Whats your OS?

Like the title says what OS are you running and whats your opinion of it.

Im running  :macgun:  Windows XP Home and since this is my first and only computer (a commodore 64, or an apple 2e dont count as REAL computers in my books) I dont have anything to compare it to.

I'm running XP pro.  It has a few extra options.  I've still not had an OS that ran as bulletproof as Win2k did.  I never, ever had it crash on me.

WinXP Pro here too, on all my machines.  Windows 2000 is better though, I agree.  Windows ME is the worst OS ever...

Desktop: Windows ME
Laptop: Windows 98
Palm: OS5
Custom Computer: Either going to be a Lindows or OS/2 Warp
Work Computer: Windows NT 4 Workstation

Ooo OS/2 Warp.  I've always wanted to mess with that.

Home Desktop: XP Pro W/ SP2
Laptop: Same
Work Comp: Windows 2k

I Prefer Either one but have learned that xp is definately best for individual users and win 2k is best for enterprise enviroment, or in my case labs at schools. A lot less fluff to turn off!

Used Gentoo for a bit but I need windows' support for tvout and emulators

I had win2000 on a 75mhz server, most stable os i have ever ran,(macs would prolly beat it, but who messes with a mac,aka less then 1% of all computers)

Wow I didnt think that it was that many....
Up until a month or two ago, All computers were pluged in and operational. They arent now because we moved into a house about half the size, I think that we might have gotten rid of the bottom 4 or 5. We got rid of a couple of old TI computers and at least 5 286 or older

heh, in elementary we had some of those really early, new Macs. They recommended we save every 5 minutes and even then we didn't make it to 5 minutes half the time. I have a grudge to get over.

My car is 16 years old, my O/S is only 9.

Ah, OS 9. Yeah, the old OS was pretty flaky, although it was usually better than a comparable Windoze version at the time. OS X changed all of that...it's extremely stable, no crashes, and a very sophisticated OS now. You'd be surprised at how much it functions like XP.

New Mac sales = 3-5% on average.
Installed base of Macs = 10% or more. There's many more out there than you think.

BTW, OS X 10.3.5 on all 4 of my computers.

Work laptop Win 2000...

Home pc (which i don't really use due to the fact that i'm always on the work laptop now) runs Slackware Linux. It was used as a webserver on which i hosted my website but i temporairly took it down
