2.3T problems

the otherday the landlord asked me to park my car out on the street because he was tired of it leaking oil on his driveway, so I moved it out to the street car ran fine while I was doing this.  came back about 4 hours later to leave with the car and it wouldnt start all I could get from it was a slight try to start and then nothing.  so I pulled #1 plug and it was soaked with gas...  I pulled the rest and found that they were all soaked with gas.  I cleaned them and tied again and the same thing happened.  what could cause this?  are my injectors stuck or could there be something else telling them to dump fuel?  please help      car wont run at all  thanks

Sounds like the fuel pump must be stuck on, so it's draining the battery plus possibly building too much pressure that it's leaking past the injectors? Although that seems unlikely (the pressure part I mean)

the pump comes on and shuts off like normal, and you can bleed the fuel pressure off with the key on.  I'm about 100 miles from the car since it did this to me on the day we were moving I had to leave it at dad's house.

Your fuel is fine, you have no spark. Check to see if your coil is firing.

Sounds like you have a flaky TFI module or Hall Effect sensor (PIP) in the dist.  It might be a bad coil.  See if you are getting voltage to the coil as mentioned.  The WH/LB wire is the one to probe for voltage.  If no voltage and your FP is kicking on to prime the system there is probably an issue as mentioned.
Since the plugs are getting wet with fuel, the ECU is probably getting the signal from the dist/TFI (PIP) to fire the injectors, so it may be the coil.

didnt think to check the coil, the tfi module is the one that bolts to the side of the distributor right?

You know I would have never thought of this happening.  But the other day I got out of my car, keys in pocket and I could hear the pump humming.  Even crawled under it to check.  I checked the ignition switch and it was in the off postition completely.  I got back in put the key back in and started it and shut it off and it hasn't done it since.

I'd be suspect of the fuel pressure regulator. The diaphrams can rupure suddleny dumping gas into the intake. This very thing happened on a '87 TC I had a few years back. A buddy had it doing a repaint, and brought it home. When he drove up, I was out in the street so we were checking  out the new paint. It was running just fine and started running rough and cut off, couldn't get it started had to push it into the driveway. A quick check revealed it was flooded, pulled the vac line to the reg and it was full of gas.

Funny.....

Fuel pump relay stuck.... Its actually a fairly common problem... BUT it will NOT cause a flooded engine, has to be the regulator or a stuck injector.

I ruptured the diaphragm on the new BBK regulator I had put on my engine when I rebuilt it. It didn't flood the engine, but it wouldn't hold any fuel pressure at all, not even enough to start the car.

Actually, I never tried starting it just because it wouldn't hold any pressure, until I had switched out regulators.

also check the ECT.
left mine unplugged once and engine would not start due to over fueling.
