This Year's CJ Eatery

Since the past few years of eating at Jillian's have gotten progressively worse I've been trying to think of new venues.  (I was told not to come back in unless I met dress code, sleeveless shirts aren't allowed unless you're a drunken bar-slut, apperantly I wasn't slutty enough.)  Anyway, I just realized the other day that the Youngstown Sports Grille has moved to a larger location right at the end of our beloved Tiffany Blvd.  I think this would be an excellent location for our Saturday night meal.  It looks large enough to house all of us and friends tell me the food and service is excellent.  Within the next couple weeks I'll be going there to personally check it out.

Anyone have any comments on this?  I'm pretty sure we aren't going to Jillian's again, right?

Hmm I never even knew people had a problem with Jillians. I didn't mind that place at all, but I'm always up for change.

It just seemed like the staff at Jillian's really didn't have thier proverbial shiznit together.  I asked about some condiments and they pointed me across the room.

Heh, I remember that one. Granted I know we were a big group, and there was a bit of self serve that may have been required, but the waiters could've earned there tips a bit better. I'm not positive, but I remember talking to eric about the fact that the place had been purchased by the people who own the Dave and Busters chain. If that is true, i'd think that there is a possibility that things could have improved since then. But either way I did enjoy the place overall, namely the gaming room, and the food wasn't that bad either. Perhaps somebody out that way could scope it out in advance and see if anything is different/better/worse now.

The only reason I ever suggested Jillian's was because it was totally family-oriented. Well, that and the food rocks. I've been there recently and I don't think things have changed since last summer. Must as I'd like to hold out hope for Jillian's again...after what people reported last year, it's probably best to go elsewhere. I certainly don't want people to think I'm forcing them to go there if they don't want to.

In trying to plan the show I keep family-oriented things at the top of the list. But, I think in this case, since this is an end-of-the-show unofficial dinner and whatnot...we don't really HAVE to have it geared solely toward the family. Everyone is free to go wherever, back to the hotel, different restaurant, what have you...no big deal. Maybe having a bar so close to the hotel would work out to be a good thing. ;)

Down the street from the hotel, there is also Outback Steakhouse, and the Springfield Grille, within walking distance. Springfield is more of a proper-dress thing.

Or we have Papa John's and Dunkin' Donuts. Woohoo!
Mmmm....donuts..... ;)

HAHAHA! I completely forgot about that event, thanks for reminding me!

And I'd like to eat at a place where I can drink and stuff my face like there's no tomorrow, and just hang out with everyone there. So yea, that could definitely be almost anywhere. 3am donut run anyone?

No, no, no. This year I have a brilliant plan. ;)  I'm gonna use a pressure washer on those  Welds before I leave and see if it works. Nick was right, those things are a huge PITA to clean.

With the time saved, I'm going to be camping out at Long John Silver's making sure my heart knows who's boss. It seems I can't find one anymore on the east coast...
