Kill the NASCAR channel

Or give us back SpeedTV and get your own NASCAR Channel.

It's pretty pointless, since they already gathered 65,000 sig's last time, and they're only looking for 26,000 this time, but still. I'd love to see something done about the 20hrs of NASCAR coverage a day. Seriously, I don't need to watch Tony Stewart play poker, or Jeff Gordon hunt Grouse. What's next? A reality show where we watch Jr. go through the daily grind of Eat, shiznit, Sleep, Drive, Give a big shiznit-eating grin to the fans.

I agree! After 500 miles and 3-4 hours, where are you? Right back where you started. What's the point in that?

they should also outlaw the Barret-Jackson auctions. all it's doing is pushing the average joe out of the market

The thing is, Speedvision used to be a well balanced channel, showing most types of motorsport. Once it went to SpeedTV, NASCAR has been taking over every slot progressively.

Thundergrowl, you're right. How can you get excited about watching the same run, the same pass, the same pit, over and over and over for years on end? It's completely unchanging. Don't get me started on the ization of the term 'Stock'.

I wouldn't go quite that far. I'd love to see more SCCA, WRC, Tarmac Rallies, Prostreet Drags, Overland Rallies (Dakar), Trophy Trucks, Sprint cars, etc. Any wheeled sport where the point is to get across the line before everyone else. I wouldn't even ask them to consider getting rid of NASCAR. Just put it on an equal playing field with other forms of motorsport.

Thanks to Barret-Jackson, American automobiles are finally worth a decent buck. Just think. Some day soon, your car will be an American Classic.

I follow you on that one. I was thinking more along the lines of the more mainstream stuff. I like most all of the other stuff, but when I have a choice between watching a Non Athletic Sport Created Around Rednecks race vs. an F1/Indy/Champ car race, Nascar loses everytime. Oh, and that Danica Patrick is friggin' gorgeous ;)  !!!

Good for the guy with an American 60's rusted out shiznitbox then. One of the reasons people won't buy an American car is they don't hold any value whatsoever. It's about time they were worth something. The same issue you see as a problem, I see as a positive. :)
