Body Mods

:welder:  :sawzall:
So what body mods has everyone done? I'm always looking for new ideas. So far I have removed the emblems on the trunk and side of the car, the molding between the wheelwells, the reflector in the tail lights, added sequential lights, turbo coupe hood, smoothed the gas cap, and shaved the antenna. I count paint jobs as a body mod so lets see what you got! As soon as I get batteries for my camera I will get some pics because :ttiwwp:

Shaved locks/emblems/antenna/keyless entry pad, sequentials, turbo coupe header panel, cowl hood, smoothed gas filler door, filled and smoothed engine bay. When it sees paint it will also have body color bodyside modlings and door handles, along witgh a custom two-tone scheme.

well i did this  my car mod pic  took about a day or so, the tricky  part is the hydrolics and the mastering of quantum physics so i could efficantly handel the enerjon power source. its pretty trick when its transformed   :giggle:

but seriously... i shaved my emblems, used tc hood/header pannel and bumper cover. and removed my pin stripe.

So far: http://ferdbird.com/87sport

Shaved door handles, antenna, turbo coupe nose, Asturias Gray paint, wheels sand blasted and painted to match, painted mirrors, painted moldings. Sequential turn signals to be installed (in my nice heated garage... well worth the rent!)

Um, all I can say is wait till spring ;)

Interior is basically done too, but that's not really body so...

For all of you antenna shavers- how do you run an antenna after you shave the external one, and how is the reception?

:giggle: What reception? I don't know about everyone else but I didn't do anything with the antenna but remove it and the wire. I could never find anything good on anyway. But don't some newer cars have part of the antenna on the windshield?

Uhhhh... put in the wrong headlights (Bosch H6054), epoxied the front signal lenses back on when they fell off, got the left side door molding hanging in a bag in the closet, used some touchup paint where the thrown egg chipped it.... that's about it.  :disappoin
Death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

1988 5.0 Bird, mostly stock, partly not, now gone to T-Bird heaven.
1990 Volvo 740GL. 114 tire-shredding horsies, baby!

As for the antenna, I never put one back in and yes, the answer is "what reception?"

BUT... the fenders are changing over the winter and an antenna will be put back, just not like the stock one... Expect a relatively different looking nose by spring, and I'll dare to say unlike anything you've seen yet.

Those who know my plans correct me if I'm wrong.

Just (spray) paint, paint, and more paint so far. Might try more than that once I've built up a little more confidence in my work.

No pics this time, I've already posted plenty of 'em.

You can buy hidden antennas that install in the headliner or on the windsheild .

I changed all the front lights, black-chromed the chrome, will be changing the grille, and already in the process of back-lighting my side valences.
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"
