Silver stubby short antenna

i was just wondering if this Silver stubby short antenna i saw on ebay would fit on my 83 cougar thanks for any info

I suppose it COULD but isn't that the kind of antenna that's supposed to mount a the top of the A-pillar (like a lot of cars are now)?

If you care, the APC "billet" shorty antennas they sell at auto parts stores has the right adapters to go right on. As a bonus, you can strip the paint off the little aluminum bezel around the bottom of the antenna and it looks right at home.

look closely at your antenna and that one. on yours the threads are external. and on the one in question there internal. so you would have to come up with a way to change that out so it would fit into your stock antenna area. plus i think it won't match up with the base of it.
