Re: 351 vs 302 Reply #1 – November 29, 2004, 01:21:20 AM I would put my money on the 351. Mainly because it is bigger. With duel exhaust your car should hit about 160 hp. the 351's start at 180.You should be able to hit 140 mph easy. I have hit 132 running like . Quote Selected

Re: 351 vs 302 Reply #4 – November 29, 2004, 06:30:15 PM if my brother is bigger than your brother, who would win in a fight?!?! WHOOOOmore information is needed, i could get a single barrel carb, slap it on a 351, some exhaust manifolds with 1.5" exhaust, and be a turd, or you could go full EFI...etcand why would you even care about top speed? it serves no purpose Quote Selected

Re: 351 vs 302 Reply #7 – November 29, 2004, 10:39:18 PM My :2c: ....302 parts are cheaper and easier to get.... The 351 will also add weight (Not sure how much) and not only power. Quote Selected
Re: 351 vs 302 Reply #8 – December 15, 2004, 02:07:48 PM Is it a windsor or a cleveland? Quote Selected
Re: 351 vs 302 Reply #10 – December 15, 2004, 03:09:35 PM Let's just assume we're talking about Windsor blocks here. Not much chance of a cleveland. Top speed = teh win! 190mph is the best! Quote Selected
Re: 351 vs 302 Reply #11 – December 24, 2004, 06:12:07 PM 351W: Advantages Strength: The 351W block is stronger than the production 5.0 by a long shot. Thicker walls and 3-inch main, and 2.311-inch rod journals (versus 2.248/2.123 for the 5.0) are contributing factors. Taller Deck: The 351W features a deck height of 9.503 inches versus the 5.0’s 8.206 inches. Rod-to-Stroke Ratio: In stock configuration, the 351 has a better rod-to-stroke if u took both motors with same basic build up the 351 would make more power and tork over 302 every day of the week and twice on sunday. But 351 is also 100lbs more too and a tad bit bigger.
