But the fronts were super skinny and the rears were super wide. Quote Selected

How do you get the finishes to be so smooth and glossy? Do you use an airbrush? I want more pics of the GTO and the General Lee!I'm a little late getting in on this but...I found out years ago that there are several key ingredients for a good finish.First, is prep work. Wash the body with hot soapy water and let it air dry.Second, good paint. Spray paint works great but in my experience, the more it costs, the better it is. The blue and black trucks I posted pics of were both painted with this Rustoleum enamel that I picked up that was around $3 a can. You also gotta make sure you don't go too heavy when you apply the paint- the fan-type spray heads are the best. And third- ideal conditions! I always had to paint my cars outside, so I would try to do it when it was about 70-80 degrees outside with low humidity, and kept the models out of the sun. After I did a coat I would cover the body with one of those clear plastic covers (from a model display case) to keep dust and bugs out of the paint until it dried. Also, turtle wax chrome polish works pretty good for smoothing out minor imperfections in the paint. Then you can put Pledge on it to make it look purdy.BTW, 5.0willgo- the valve covers on that hemi are supposed to be black notice the wrinly finish on them? Quote Selected
