Mass Air conversion November 26, 2004, 01:39:48 PM Since I can't install my under drive pulley, I started looking at the mass air conversion info. I have all the parts and pieces but what pin do you use for the fuel pump relay powerand how is the best way to run the wire. Thanks Quote Selected
Re: Mass Air conversion Reply #1 – November 26, 2004, 05:31:43 PM hm, on the coolcats page it only says "You will also need to run a new wire to the fuel pump relay. In the Mustang, the fuel pump power wire gets its power from a different computer pin than our cars, so like it or not, you gotta do it. Of course, safety is the #1 priority here, so please be careful. Check the chart below for a reference."but says nothing about on what pin to do it... Quote Selected

Re: Mass Air conversion Reply #4 – November 27, 2004, 06:56:14 AM The harness and the connectors for the MAF sensor and computer are from Ford Motor sport Performance Equipment. I am assuming, I just run the wire through the firewall plug it into the computer change theThermactor wires and I should be good to go Quote Selected

The MAF EECs do use a feed back circuit(pin 19) to tell the EEC that the F/P is receiving voltage. What happens if you don't connect it??? NUTHIN', the EEC sets code 89 in memory, and life goes on(in other words it will run just fine).Quoteok someone chime in and tell me wy my car runs its been this way for awhile like 3 years now prolly cause when i ordered this the ford racing they mentioned the thermactor wiring but they said everything else was a dicect swap so i dunno i wanna her emore details on this thanksWith the thermactor solinoids you should switch a couple of wires(EEC pins 11 & 51 with 32 & 38) so they will operate. If you arn't using solnoids then it doesn't make any difference. Quote Selected

Re: Mass Air conversion Reply #12 – December 11, 2004, 02:43:19 PM this kit would be all i need?? what about the Mas Air Sensor? would i have to get that from a junkyard or something? Quote Selected
Re: Mass Air conversion Reply #13 – December 11, 2004, 02:47:21 PM Yes you would need a maf meter and a maf computer, could be sourced from a Mustang. Junkyard or ebay would probably be cheaper. But this kit is all the wires you would need to convert your harness to mass air. Quote Selected
