Mom's 83 Cougar

I know I posted something similiar awhile back, so I apologize if it's an identical repost.  However I've decided I'm going to fix up my mom's 83 Cougar for her.  My plan was to completely restore/mod my Lincoln Mark 7, give it to her, then purchase a new ride, either a GTO or Charger.  However she is so attached to that ride I've made the decision to put some money into it.  Since I've never driven a nicely restored 83 Cougar before, I want to know just how good are they?  Are they excellent freeway cruisers?  Lame questions but important questions nonetheless when fixing a car up for your mother.

dude these cars are Awsome. I love the killer highway cruiseablity. I've redone the whole chassis. the car can carve a serious corner. My car is a 84 T-bird. Parts are also cheaper than the mark. I would look into a alternator upgrade along with a brake upgrade. then from there its up to you as far as engine.  basically head over to http://www.coolcats.net/home/index.html they have alot of info that should more than answer your questions

Cool, cool.  Funny thing is much like my grandparents, my mother just isn't used to many options on a car.  For instance, I bought my grandparents an 89 Continental which as you guys know is full of options.  Well my grandparents don't use the climate control, stereo system, cruise control etc.....  The only thing they use is the power seats.  So though the 83 Cougar is definately low tech, my mom loves it.
