Guy put a Continental wheel on the trunk, tacky pinstriping and a stand up Cougar head hood ornament on the front end. He asked $18,500 US for it. I believe it sold for under $8K, many years later. The car had a mere 50 miles...not 50,000, but FIFTY miles. It was on and off trailers its whole life. If that kind of car cannot get $18K, can't see why this one would. If the work is done tastefully (ie Eric's car) then they look great but if it isn't they ruin the car's lines. If I got that 20th I'de put the turbines back on, redo the gold striping, put the factory hood back on and call it done. I would leave the spoiler on and leave the car lowered though. Those changes look pretty good to me. Does anyone want to pay $15,000 for my Bird? It's almost as clean as that 20th :D Quote Selected

However...back in the day, when our cars were new, ground effects kits were plentiful, and I don't ever recall any of them being gawdy at all. They were all tasteful. And that's why all of my 4-eye cars have had kits on them. Those kits enhanced the lines and did not take away from the car. But now, in the age of wanting more attention and trying desperately to be different, anything goes I guess. Taste will always be subjective. It's like, you think you're doing the coolest thing in the world to your ride, but there will always be someone that doesn't like it. It's just a matter of, will more people like it, or less? If something (like this 20th for sale) is done and can easily be changed back, that's one thing. Once you take a good car and mod it past the point of no return, you're stuck with it. Ain't nobody gonna buy it if it's ugly! Quote Selected
