That's really awful news, Fred. I wish you and your family the best, and can't wait for next year.

Well, my Cougar's not ready, so it looks like I'll be rollin' up in the Acura or with one of the other Marylanders. Poop. :(

But at least I'll be there. Everyone buy Cat Jam shirts! :D

After getting all the funding lined up and the car's interior and exterior shined up I decided to replace the thermostat today because of it's overheating problems. Well of course nothing can be easy and I busted the head off of the lower bolt on the thermostat housing. My Father and I worked on it all day today and spent lots of $$ in the attempt to break it free. Nothing we can do other then to rip parts of the engine off to get to it (which takes time). At 610pm tonight I threw the towel in after messing with it all day. Really sucks that I filled the tank up, paid my registration fees, found a hotel yesterday,t shirt fees, got it inspected yesterday, donations, and still can't attend. I'm more pissed then anything right now. To come so close and have something that should have taken 30 minutes to cause me to the cancel the entire trip.

Now I'm going back to my room to cry. :(

Man, people are dropping out left and right, that sucks.

There's a little caravan of sorts to go between the park, and chilis, and the restaurant for dinner, right? Since I sure as hell don't know where anything is up there...

Yes it does...but things happen every year at the last minute with some people, and they're unavoidable, so we just have to roll on with it. I feel bad for the people that plan their whole year and/or summer vacation around this show and then have the rug pulled out from under their feet at the last minute. It's just terrible.

There sure will be. Find the Cats and Birds and follow, and you'll be just fine. You can download the maps to get from one location to another here:

Sorry to hear about that Fred.

My family stuff, while not as drastic, is still the primary reason for me not making it now that the car is about 85-90% sorted.

I think this is the last year I can say "Maybe next year" :P

Have fun folks!

I just tried to easyout it and no luck on the thermostat bolt. My Dad and I will be leaving in another hour or two in my Saab. See everyone there. Be prepared to answer some questions as I am now going to rebuild the 5.0.
Next year: New Engine Bodykit WILL BE on.
Hope no one minds me showing up in an import, ha. I'm going to have fun tho!!! :)

I don't know how many "jammers" are still around, but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate!

I just hope it ends up being nice...but the youngstown forecast says up to a quarter inch of rain is expected for tomorrow :(

Well, we had some off and on rain this afternoon but otherwise, things were hot and humid. I think the cold front went through...tonight is was noticeably less humid and cooler. Things look good for Saturday. I counted ~22 cars tonight at the hotel, many more expected for the picinic. I'm happy! More updates when possible...
