Parker was not likely to face charges because he did not appear to know what happened or where he was, said Bruce Bartlett, chief assistant in the Pinellas-Pasco County State Attorney's Office.

I'm against letting the elderly continue to drive. My grandmother is 79 and on one of her recent outings, she decided to merge before the curb median ended. She ended up cutting someone off almost causing an accident. Not to mention that now her car drives as crooked as a dogs hind leg. Corollas don't like jumping over medians.

As much as I love to drive and I know I'll fight it when I'm old but I hope my family does everything possible to keep me off the road. The last thing I want to is injure another person or myself.

I really think it would be a great idea to have to retake your drivers test when you hit a certain age. Granted some elderly can maneuver fine but others can't. Remember that low milage old lady driven T-Bird on ebay? It was beat up all around.

police in NYS can fill out a form that requires a driver be re-evalUATED.  I filled one out for an elderly lady once when she told me that this was her SECOND accident of the DAY.
