took apart distributor can't put it back together November 18, 2004, 01:40:53 AM my 1980 capri 3.3 v6 has not been starting for about a week. i have replaced pretty much everything on it and now i am changing the stator (thats stator not starter). i took that distibutor cap off and the rotor. when i took off the armature and stator a small spring flew out from under the stator and now i can't figure out where the spring goes and if there was more than one spring. someone please help..........nater Quote Selected
Re: took apart distributor can't put it back together Reply #1 – November 18, 2004, 04:26:00 PM On Duraspark II distributors there are two springs on the centrifugal spark advance. This is under the stator plate assembly. If one of the springs is still in place the loose one goes on the opposite side (180 degrees) from the first one. Quote Selected
