Hmmm, your sig makes me think of  Jimmy Buffet... and that makes me think of Cheeseburgers... in paradise.  "I like mine with lettuce and tomata', Heinz 57 and french fried potata's, big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer, good god almighty which way do I steer..."

And PS on the Dave Chapelle - "You'll be fvckin' fat btiches in no time!  Hell, you might even fight a n***a or two.."

Hey what about those new CVT transmissions.  Huh?  Huh?

New? I had one from '91.

CVT's are to much of a liabilty.  Saturn isn't gonna have a cvt in the Vue after this year due to the silly ammount of warrenty  they cause.  And they will be taking a loss in profit for switching to the cheaper transmissions that get better mileage...

My CVT never once gave me trouble, even after running it dry. (give me a break, it was my first car and I was a newbie teen) And that was with full time 4X4 and after having to get the engine rebuilt.

CVT's aren't the best for high power, but they're not a liability. Ask any ski-doo dealer.

Is it time for a new thread? :D

Was there a point to that?

Yes.  Do you know what the difference is between a subjective statement and an objective one?

I don't think he was arguing auto's as superior, just stating his prefference.

First half, correct.  I was not trying to support either one.  Second half, I was not trying to state my preference.  However, since you mentioned it, my preference of transmission type depends on the type of car.

And MY point is, I don't freaking care about subjective and objective. When I ask something like "Was there a point to that?", it's mainly rhetorical, and generally a signal that I think you should drop it. Your tangent was pointless. I explained how, no matter what argument they make in favor of sticks, MY preference and MY desire for comfort will trump those arguments in MY situation.

Coming back and actually answering what was asked rhetorically has done little outside of irritating me when I'm already physically tired and mentally spent. (see also the warning elsewhere in the forum about correcting my sleep schedule, which is just about finished.. but also the time when I'm most likely to snap and go postal)

Now, I will come right out and say it: Please drop it. This serves no purpose.

For crying out loud, quit being so  touchy.  The smilies were there to show I was being light-hearted about it.

The problem sometimes with a board is we can only rely on words and not body language, tone, etc to show how we intend it to come across.

....and since this is one of the most pointless, hijacked threads I've ever seen, we're done here.
