Im pissed off...

Ive been working on painting my window trim, since like many TC's, its faded, and looking rough

well, last night, i set two rags, my masking tape, and my can of paint on the roof of my car, the paint was sitting inside the masking tape

well, today, i set out, mask off my rear window, and the entire rear of my car, since overspray is a bitch, and i realize "my paint is gone"

i search the house, i search the driveway, i call my dad, and he tells me it was there when he left work in the morning...my mom doesnt go near my car, that only means that someone has taken a simple can of spray paint

someone stealing a can of spray paint? i have a CD changer in my trunk, tools, and some other stuff, and my trunk was unlocked last night, but they steal a can of spray paint...it just  me off

looks like i gotta lock the cars up now
It's Gumby's fault.

Welcome to the world of petty theft.. on the receiving end. Just had my tag stolen some weeks ago. I'm still annoyed about it at times. I mean, it cost nothing but some time to replace.. but it's still a violation of your space.

They stole my boss's front plates from his truck which was parked in front of his window, with campus security 50 yards away. I was amazed at the nerve of the thief.

My car's always unlocked, the passenger door lock is busted, so I can't do anything about it, but I don't ever have anything worthwhile in it, not even coins or anything.

Yeah well I was at the junkyard with my buddy helping him with his civic. We were basically just breaking sockets (I broke two 1 1/4" sockets and my 1/2" 24" breaker bar. So with only 1 1 1/4" socket left we decide to move over to the next car over because it has the same parts. So we work on it for maybe 5 mins and pull the part off. We stop and sit in the car (with the tools inbetween the two cars) throw down some energy drinks that we smuggled in in celebration of like 5 or so hours or just pulling on this. We were working on his whole front suspesion and we had just got everything that we need. After about 5 mins or so(with the windows down and our feet  hanging out) we get out grab the part and go to get our tools and they are all gone. Someone walked right up next to us (less then 5 feet) and walked all around two cars crouching down and picked up all of out tools (except the broken braker bar ironically and a hammer) and walked off with two 100 lb toolbags while we were taking a break. We litterly had tools scattered all around both cars that we were working on and they took the time to pick all of them up , ignoring all of the broken sockets and tools with our feet dangling above them.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Now it would be interesting if an animal got ahold of the can. See some rapuppies running around spraying itself at random. :giggle:

People are gutsy when they see something they want to steal. My dad's rear license plate was stolen off his old '93 T-Bird in a Wal-Mart parking lot, and my cousin had a trailor hitch cover and custom airbrushed license plate stolen off his truck while he was at work.
But why would somebody steal a can of spray paint? They must have been just trying to piss you off.
Stupid moronic bastages.

You're lucky they didn't test it out on your TC.

it wouldnt have mattered too much if they tested it on the TC, the paint probably would have beaded up and ran off...lots of wax on that car

im actually very suprised that someone had the courage to step into my yard, everyone knows i have a huge dog, and my yard is slightly a death trap, there is so much shiznit hidden in the grass to break your ankle on...and all of that for a can of spray paint

i wonder if it was someone trying to show off to their friends
It's Gumby's fault.

That's not a dog. That's a horse.

A buddy of mine had a pair of fog lights stolen right off his front bumper once, and I mean the cheap $19.99 Wal-Mart specials, not good ones. They even left the brackets behind.

IT was all moot, though - this was the sage green T-Bird that was wrecked (pic shown in another thread). He wrecked it the very day after the lights were stolen.

When I lived in the old neighbor-HOOD, someone stole the tags off my car.

Also we had a neighborhood theif ,that was going in homes while the people were out in the yard. Yep he got us too, while the wife was cutting grass(no not harvesting), and I was at work... We had just returned from vacation and had several things(camcorder etc) laying in one of the livingroom chairs. So he grabbed that and all the jewely and watches that were in the bedroom. Luckly when he headed out the front door, a nighbor spotted him and went running to tell the wife(she's still cutting grass). Well the cops knew who the theif was, and had been tipped off by someone he was in the neighborhood. So about a hour after they had been called, the cops came back to the house with most of our stuff, in one of our pillow cases covered with grass stains. When I asked about the stains cop said yea Cecil(an old school mate) ran though someone's yard and knocked him off his bicycle with the patroll car.

Later we found out we were his unlucky #13 on his crime spree. Then when we went to court as witnesses, there were 10 others there he'd hit... He took a good look at all of us, and pleaded guilty...

I had a hub-cap stolen from my uncle's old Granada several years ago. My cousin and I were sitting in traffic on the interstate and heard it hit the ground. I looked in the rear-view and sure enough, the guy was crouched down next to the car looking at me to see if I heard it fall. He grabbed it and ran before I could even get the door open. He didn't get into another car so I guess it was a regular thing for him to do (hang out along the embankment and steal them to sell, I guess). Talk about nerve....
