Heater core to Radiator hose placement?

Heater core to Radiator hose placement?

What is the proper hook up of the heater hoses from the back of the engine to the heater core?

Does it matter?

Mine was top hard line to left side and bottom hard line to right side.

I can’t seem to find a Pic of it in any of the heater core post or in any manuals.

I have new hose to go on (they need trimmed to fit) but do I am not sure if the hoses were right in the first place.

Your pic shows the right orientation of hoses. One is 3/4", the other 5/8"

Here's the list I made while looking for mine:

Supply (pipe2) to heater core
  - 4 turns
  - 3/4" x 11.6"
  Ford............ E7SZ-18472-A (inc. restrictor)
  Motorcraft...... KHM-121 (discontinued) KY-2 (flex 3/4)
  ACDelco......... 14176S
  Dayco........... 80411 * 2 + 80423 connector
  Gates........... 19606 - Heater To Pipe-2, W/O ATC CtF {Molded}
  Goodyear........ 63087/63037
  NAPA............ NBH11606 ctf
  Drive-rite......

Heater core to return (pipe1)
  - 3 turns
  - 5/8" * 12.5
  Ford............ E6LY-18472-C
  Motorcraft...... KH-195 / KY-1 (flex 5/8)
  ACDelco......... 16030M
  Dayco........... 80400 * 2 + 80422 connector
  Gates........... 18705 - Heater To Pipe-1, CtF {Molded} (DAYCO xref = 87621)
  Goodyear........ 63138
  NAPA............ NBH10705 ctf
  Drive-rite......

* * NOTES * *

The "restrictor" will be found shoved in one end of the 3/4" hose.
That end goes to the engine pipe.
The hose goes out, turns toward the driver's side, then loops up and around the 5/8" to clear it on the way to the core.

I don't know how Dayco expects two 90 degree turns and a straight connector to duplicate a 4-turn hose.

Some of the numbers don't exactly match other maker's cross-reference books (Goodyear).

Thanks for the reply.
I love the lack of room, to me it looked like I could reverse the hose and they would fit better.
Now I know for sure.

Yes I will be the king of digging up old posts......

but I have a question.... How are the ATC cars different from what is posted above?  I bought my T-bird with the heater core already bypassed, and there is a sensor in the middle of the hoses from the two pipes under the intake.  Which hose do I leave the sensor in?

Thanks.

G.

The sensor (marked by the arrow) is in the bottom hose its basically an electronic thermostat.  By setting the temp on the ATC module you set the sensor for a target operating voltage.  When the heated fluid raises the voltage/temperature to the desired setting it then restricts flow to keep it at that setting.  90 degrees is full open all the time when in manual mode from what I understand.
