Picked Up A 1984 Convertible

Stumbled across this one in Iowa unexpectedly. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but knew it should be in the Fox T-Bird / Cougar community! 1984, V8, 62,200 miles. Has been repainted; Car Craft door tag is missing. Feels like I'm driving around in a large, noisy bowl of Jell-O but it's a blast!  :toothless:

Hey now...I don't have that Car Craft booklet, I'm jealous! ;)

Awesome score, congrats! I've always believed that symmetrical dash looks best in a convertible.

If you remove the back seat top section, there might be a number written on a piece of tape or possibly on the foam itself. That would be the CC conversion number. It's probably an '86-converted car but it's hard to tell. Does the chrome piece around the back part of the roof have snaps on top, or no snaps, for the top boot?

I'll have to take a closer look at the car tomorrow when I get some time off! So far I've just had time to drive the car around a little bit and test out the windows / top. Haven't tried playing with the top boot yet, but I want to say just from memory there's no snaps around the back part. From the inside, the car seems to identical to the '84 convertible pics you have on your website.

If you'd like, I can drop the booklet in the mail for you. I flipped through it quickly, seems kinda generic (nothing Cougar specific in there I think). Would definitely be better in your hands, I'm pr0ne to losing things / forgetting about stuff ... probably inhaled too many gas fumes growing up.

PS - Have you seen increases in web site traffic since that Tiger King came out? ("Hey all you cool cats and kittens ... ")

Eric - I've been meaning to send you a scan of the booklet along with some other stuff, but if 4thqtr will send you the real deal you'll obviously be further ahead.  Looks like his is in better condition than mine to boot.  As he mentioned, there isn't anything Cougar specific ... it's all just general convertible operation and maintenance type stuff.  Still, being a collector, it's a cool piece to have.

That red interior makes my pants tight.
It's Gumby's fault.
