1988 Turbo Coupe - Almost completed project $1,000 April 19, 2017, 11:54:27 AM All, I still need to sell and/or get rid of a bunch of stuff. I am getting rid of all my thunderbirds because my work has gotten insanely busy lately. In addition, I am an assistant scoutmaster with two boys working on eagle projects, so I just don’t have time for my own hobbies anymore. Here’s the first car for sale. It’s a 1988 TC auto with a rebuilt engine. You can see more about the car at the following threads.http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?38810-88-tc-autoLink to Project Build ThreadFirst the good - there is a very nice leather interior, rust free body, crack free dash,87,000 miles on body, rebuild engine with a D-Port head and ranger roller cam. Link to this Head on EbayThe bad: The engine harness looks like mom’s spaghetti. You can read from the threads that the previous owner had disconnected everything in order to put in a 302. While the wires are all there, you will definitely need to trace things in order to make this a running car again. For some reason, the door and the fender were out of adjustment & rather than fix it, they have been allowed to rub against each other causing dents in both the passenger door and fender. The ugly:Since it’s not running, I assume there are misc things that are needed/need repair. For example, the dual fan setup is cracked and will need replaced.I bought the car delivered for $1,000 and I thought I would scavenge parts off of it for my other project. I had every intention of swapping out the interior to my white car if I ever got that one finished. Somewhere along the way, I bought a used wiring harness for $250 with the intent of making it a running car. I think with little work, this could be a fun project, but it is a project. Alternatively, I believe the leather interior is worth $500 and since a crack free dash is made of unobtaineum, that’s probably worth another $400. Basically, if you buy the interior, you get the shell and the engine for free.I don’t have the time to part this car, and I’m pretty firm on my price of $1000. Feel free to reply or PM me if you’re interested. This will be out of my shed before fall, one way or another! Quote Selected

1988 Turbo Coupe - Almost completed project $1,000 Reply #4 – April 25, 2017, 11:32:40 PM I've seen this car in person. The interior alone is worth the asking price. The rest of the car is fixable as well. If you buy this you'll get a great deal.I'd buy it but I don't have the room, unless I start parking cars on my lawn. Quote Selected

1988 Turbo Coupe - Almost completed project $1,000 Reply #12 – May 07, 2017, 02:00:38 PM I would have offered sooner but your ad said you are firm on the $1000 asking price. I don't make lowball offers but an auction with a $100 opening and no reserve changes things. I understand letting the auction play out as it's the honorable thing to do although it's pretty normal for eBay auctions to end early due to off site/local sales. Quote Selected
1988 Turbo Coupe - Almost completed project $1,000 Reply #13 – May 07, 2017, 06:38:54 PM Truth be told, I really wanted to hold out, but I'm traveling every week it seems, and I have 4 weeks of personal trips planned this year as well. I just need to clear some stuff out. Give me 24 hours to sleep on it - lol Quote Selected
1988 Turbo Coupe - Almost completed project $1,000 Reply #14 – May 08, 2017, 03:58:52 PM Not bumping for the sake of bumping, but there have been a lot of ebay questions about parts, and or other cars. I have a 1986 4 eye 5speed turbo that is in drivable condition, and much of the work is done. Also another 1986 that's wrecked, as well of shelves full of parts. Hit me up if there's something you're looking for - i may have it.Geoff Quote Selected
