Cant log onto this board using IE

is there a known problem with compatibility using IE to log in to this board?

I no longer can log on here unless i use the security corrupt chrome tunnel.  Yes i know IE has its issues but nothing like the intrusive nature chrome has

Microsoft doesn't even support IE anymore...
It's Gumby's fault.

IE is like religion...it was there when you started, or else you're scared to accept that there might be something better...

I'd rather shove a 5.3 LS up my ass dry than to ever use IE OR edge or what'nshagever Mighty$uck calls their browser these days. Security flaws, intrusions, backdoors for spambots...no fuggin thanks.

Microsoft doesn't even technically support Windows XP...but they actually do...because, what, 30% or 50% or some other silly % of the world still uses it?
My own personal laptop, which is from 2006, that I got as part of where I went to college, is still running XP. I refuse to move forward until truly forced to. I also have literally zero anti-ANYthing protection software on it. I've gotten away with this for years. I have no idea how.

You might actually go fast that way ;)

I do only when it comes to slow, inferior, or crash-pr0ne programs.

As for fast vs cool, I'll take cool, if I have to choose. But tonight, looks like I'm settling for slow and uncool LOL.

I remember when XP came out....I was using Windows ME. If you've never suffered through that then you are truly blessed, though XP was flaky and buggy for awhile too. 10 isn't too bad, once you turn off a bunch of the stupid shiznit they force onto your system. I've got the Pro version, so it's not as bad as Home.

7 was great, but I've moved on from it. Farewell, and good night...10 is an excellent successor.

You get a little involved when you do a scratch build.

When XP came out, I was running 2000. I really liked 2000. I eventually went to XP and got used to that. Then when Vista came out, it was insanely horrible. I liked 7 when it came out but 10 is really where it's at for me. It was tricky to get used to, but it isn't as bad of a resource hog as 8 and 8.1, and it's really smooth.

^Yup. If Micro$uck keeps support for 10 for a good while, I'll be happy.

same issue here,
this is a new laptop and i believe its a setting somewhere.

If the mods were to look, they would see that anytime user jcassity attempts a login, there will be the following result
user attempts login
login successful\
----however,, from jcassity's desk the page phycially shows me that i am "NOT" logged in.

I get the same results with IE and Chrome.
for the record,, IE requires less phyical steps to get to my favorites

with IE, i click favorites then the linke
with Chrome there is an additional 2 more clicks to achieve the same result...

Today i was lucky, using IE it took only 5 attempts to log in

If someone is tech savy , let me know what adanced setting is incorrect to stop this from happening.
I am physically not able to log in without a normal try being a dozen times or more...

i remmeber last month i gave up after 20 tries or more using IE or Chrome.

normally if i fail on IE,,
i close IE out then reopen and the qty of attempts to log in is reduced.

i have no f'ing clue

My desktop was born as a Win 7 and my laptop was 8.1.
They were both updated to Win10 last year.
They both have IE 11  version:11.576.14393.0 , update versions:11.03.38 (KB3203621)
They both work fine here.

Fired-up my old XP desktop, it has IE 8, it works fine here.

i tried the old method of getting logged in here by two dozen attempts.

on first attempt the upper right of our home page says im not logged in but if i scroll down at the bottom to see who's logged in,,, i see my user name showing that i am logged in.

I understand the comments of how others are not having an issue, that's not the problem.
the problem is i am having an issue logging in and am asking if someone on the tech side of the forum can contact me to see if i have a setting wrong.

Trends of past years show i am interested in being a part of the board,, yet the past few months of my log in attempts and lack of partition should prove out that i am truly having issues beyond my grasp.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

does this board have a tech support number?

yes, all things cookies and temp files ect are deleted each time i exit IE or Chrome or Firefox

each of them give me the same result.
i log in
it says i failed
i scroll down and i see my name in the list of on line users yet my log in UID is not show in the top right.

i simply get lucky logging in once in a while.

the admin here should see my log in attempts are failing, it would be helpful to me to take a look to see if one of the three options i am given as a result of a failed login are valid.
