Went out looking at cars today... Reply #30 – April 30, 2015, 05:43:28 PM Of the S197 models I think I prefer the 2011-12 style. They're retro but modern at the same time. My brother's got a 2012 V6 and it's a very nice car - plus the drivetrains in the 2012-newer are far better than the 2005-2010. The 3.7 models are just about as quick as the 4.6 3V, and of course the Coyote is much faster still. There's nothing retro about the 2015, but it still screams "Mustang" from every angle. I'd like to think that Hyundai will be recycled into new Fords, just because so many old Fords were probably recycled into new Hyundais... Quote Selected
Went out looking at cars today... Reply #31 – April 30, 2015, 06:21:25 PM I like the taillights on the '11-12 Mustang better than the ones on the '13-14. The '13-14 Mustangs taillights are too black, at least to me. Quote Selected
Went out looking at cars today... Reply #32 – April 30, 2015, 10:32:08 PM Really? I love the look of the 13-14 lights at nightWhat really looks funky is 13-14 or even 11-12 aftermarket look-a-likes on the 05-10 stangs Quote Selected
Went out looking at cars today... Reply #33 – May 01, 2015, 08:28:41 AM 05-10 are a lot better looking cars than the 10-14 in my humble opinion. When I saw the '05 on the road for the 1st time my jaw literally dropped.. I had to have one. I do wish my '07 GT had the cushier interior of the newer S197's and that it had the coyote 5.0, but my mild bolt-on 4.6 3v (exhaust, CAI, 93 octane tune diablosport tune) is plenty quick enough for my needs. I've only seen a few 2015's running around here so far but I do really like them. They look a lot better in person than in the first few pictures I saw. The fastback style rear profile and the tail light design are dead shagy. Quote Selected

Went out looking at cars today... Reply #36 – June 08, 2015, 03:45:08 PM Not to thread hijack, but I just got my wife a brand new GT Premium in competition orange for our 20th anniversary. It's such an awesome car I wonder why I continue feeding my thunderbird addiction! Quote Selected
Went out looking at cars today... Reply #37 – June 08, 2015, 05:10:09 PM I was considering Competition Orange, but the only one on any local lot was a Premium with performance package and the lane watch/adaptive cruise stuff, plus a bunch of other fluff. It had a window sticker approaching $55k Canadian. Instead I fell in love with Guard metallic. I had originally wanted the performance package but it's a $3700 option in Canada. I can buy some 3.73 gears and save the rest towards a Whipple. Except I'm not buying 3.73 gears because they'd probably be too short with a supercharger, so all of that $3700 will be going toward the Whipple. Don't know exactly when, but it will happen. Don't be surprised if it becomes a winter project for me :hick:Oh, and PICS! Quote Selected
Went out looking at cars today... Reply #38 – June 08, 2015, 07:43:44 PM My god...what is the forecasted power level with a whipple on one of those??My buddy is pondering getting one. He works at Ford so he'd get a good discount. Showed him the Guard...he likes it. He's hating the payments though...but he might just do it. His brother messed with one awhile back...it was a test car...his bro works at ProCharger.. Quote Selected
Went out looking at cars today... Reply #39 – June 09, 2015, 11:18:43 AM I haven't seen any advertised power specs for a Whipple, but the Roush/Ford Racing kit promises power in the mid 600's. I would think the Whipple would produce a bit more than that. I'd be happy as long as I could put a Hellcat on the trailer, and given my car's weight advantage I should be able to do so with considerably less than 707 horses. But Hellcat or no, my main reason for wanting one is that I've wanted a Whipplecharged 5.0 since I first read about them in MM&FF decades ago. Sure, it was a different 5.0, but I can overlook that... Reply #41 – June 10, 2015, 04:46:31 PM I test drove a new convertible GT premium (Race Red with black top, 20" wheels) last week and fell in love but the wife said the BIRD and the COBRA would have to go. I was considering it but thought better of it. Two cars for one, nah! Quote Selected

Two cars for one, nah!two cars that are simple tech based vs 1 car that is ultimately going to have built in time clocks to break down,, you made a good choice.I drive a lot and im amazed at what I see broke down on the side of the road now a days.
