fluid leaking from around the brake pressure warning switch.

Just as the title says, I have brake fluid leaking from around the brake pressure warning switch. A friend said it might be the proportioning valve seals have started leaking. Does anyone else have experience with this? Can you get proportioning valves for our cars? I looked at a few parts stores online and found no results.
Can it still be driven as is?

If it didn't leak before and you haven't touched the lines then I would suspect it is the seals in the prop valve.

The prop valve on my car was leaking for the longest time and I would just keep it filled so air wouldn't get in the system
Eventually I rebuilt my brake system and swapped it out for an adjustable prop valve.

Post up a wanted ad, I'm sure one of the members here have a good one laying around and wouldn't mind selling.
I know sometimes its hard to get new parts for these cars nowadays.

If it's leaking from brake warning switch, I've heard of replacing it with a bolt and sealing threads with Teflon tape... AFAIK it's a std or metric thread, defiantly not pipe plug...

Anything you can do to stop/slow leak is better than it blowing the O ring completely and loosing brakes...

Thanks guys! I think I'll just leave it alone for now. It doesn't leak very fast.

Yours being an 85 car I would say that you can use a combination valve (has the proportioning valve and shuttle valve all in one) from a Fox Mustang. Not 100% sure but Ford was pretty good at using parts like this for lots of vehicles.
