I'll see what I can find out about making it a poster.

Walgreens and Walmart can make them into a poster.

Just found a website called poster burner, looks like it may be the best option. They can even add text if you want.

You need a hi-res drum scan of that photo if you want a quality poster print. The scan is worth the cost.

Sign me up for one, as well. I'll pitch in a few bucks to help defray scanning costs.

David is right...a drum scanner would be best. I used to operate one, about 15 years ago. Set it up, mark your start and stop points, make sure the lamp(s) are working, hit the button, and take a nap for the next 45 minutes.

We did. Supervisor gave not one shiznit, provided someone woke you up when it was done, so you could start the next scan. No, I'm not kidding. I got paid 14 bucks an hour (in 2001, mind you) to tape pictures to a clear drum, hit a button, and sleep half an hour, 40, 45 minutes at a time.

Let's get a plan together here. I'll let everyone know when the photo shows up. Whomever has the best deal on having posters made needs to let me know so I can mail them the photo. I have no problem kicking in my fair share for the poster and towards the scanning costs. All I ask is that I get the photo back after the posters are made.

If you can get a consensus of size, i can get a very good price on quality prints on photo paper. The higher the total number of prints the lower the cost per picture will be.

Even with a very hi res scan of the photo, remember that its a copy of a copy. Anything larger than 8x10 will start to reveal imperfections. There is also a cropping issue, as 11x14 for example is not the same crop as 8x10.

Don't buy it, let me work on it for a while and do some of my fancy work, then you can all have a copy to print on gloss.

10½ in x 8½ in res 96 is what I have received it at. Made corrections and posted the image to site below. I can increase the size to a point, then it will start to become more blurry, but can maintain detail, viewed from a reasonable distance.
Printing processes create a dot pattern for the transfer of 4 color ink to paper. This will noticeable more if using a low DPI (dots per inch).
Normal is 150DPI, nice print should be 200 to 300 DPI which makes those printing dots much smaller and finer.

Here is an actual Lorain, Ohio. 1985 Assembly Line car manifest sheet. These were placed in vehicles and stayed during the entire assembly.
Then placed under back seat cushion.

If you want posters, Need to scan at a high res, probably 300. OR send the image to poyomi.com These printers are in SF Cal and give high quality at great prices superfast turn around. They will also create photo printed books on card stock.
If you want cheap...Vista Print could maybe give a low price, but you will get what you pay for with them.
