Who let this F-body troll in?

I wouldn't call him a troll, though his taste in signature images is questionable.

I seem to recall that at one time he daily drove a modded TC...his cred is sufficient ;)

I seem to remember asking the same question when you joined the forum :hick:

Not only am I an F-body troll, I'm also an FRS troll now.

Plain sight pretty much. I'm still on facebook but I'm just not very active. I'm not too hard to find.

You're absolutely right! Ha. Thing's have actually been pretty  good lately. I've seen you've been busy hacking...er...wrenching on a Tbird in the cold north ;-)

I wonder if your lack of a signature picture is indicative of your taste. It's actually funny to see my current picture, the car hasn't had stock wheels and ride height for a few years now.

I daily drove two different TCs, had the 3.8L bird I was building, an 88 LX that got rear ended and another TC that was entirely too rusty for me to do anything with. If my car ownership was cred enough, the post count is pretty helpful :giggle:

All joking and razzing aside, I figured I was due for popping on the forum and seeing what was going on. It's crazy to see so many names and faces that I haven't seen for years. I've been keeping my eyes peeled on facebook hoping to see something like CatJam pop up to where I could pull the random cameo like I used to. Glad to see this forum hasn't died off like a lot of smaller forums have.
It's Gumby's fault.

I could put up a sig pic, but at this point, everyone and their dogs know what an LX Mustang on Bullits looks like. :hick:

Got any updated pics of your 'Bird? (Fire, since the Thunder was sold) ;)

I actually like the look of the last couple generations of Firebirds...they seemed more swoopy than the Camaro, and the interior looked better too, IMO.

I actually almost bought an LT1 Firebird about a year and a half ago. Needed a transmission, but the biggest reason I didn't get it was because I simply didn't want to hear all the shiznit from the GM guys saying "oh, you finally got a real car" blah blah.

I met the guy, looked it over, started it, listened to it, we tried to drive it but it slipped so bad it wouldn't pull itself. 2500 bucks. I should've bought, but like I said, didn't want to hear the shiznit. :D

Guys, for those that missed this exchange on the Group FB page the other night, this was the exchange between Tom Jr. and I.  Evidently he is a member on that page.  Here is the transcript before one of them deletes their posts like always.

TOM JR:
Tom Falconieri Well coming from me ( Tfalconier) I can assure you my father didn't think twice about being banned, while working on the 959 Porsches, la Ferraris, and all the other super cars he works on daily.

Me, well I'm not quite as lucky, while I am certified in Porsches, Land Rover, Jags, and Audis, it really doesn't compare to the stuff he works on. But hey, you guys are building tbirds and Cougars, what does that have on the cars we build

I'm sure he will be sad not looking at 9 pages of cup holders and the 300 wheel horsepower you guys make.

Pretty classy after my dad shared his years of experience, gave free parts to members, and answered all questions you guys had.

I must ask, what's in your garage?? Here's two cars we are building right now, they might not have nice cup holders or trumpet horns with 500 relays, but running 8's and 9s for street cars should suffice

Andrew Drewstang Vogt Long time lurker, first time caller. I see both sides here and I think you guys are having a clash of personalities. David, there is an ignore feature on VB that you can use and you will never see another post from Tom. I've read his posts to go back and try to reference it later and find everything deleted because someone's ass got chapped. He's full of knowledge and obviously trusted by owners with alot more cash than most of us. If I was an admin, I'd unban him and monitor his and everyone elses posts for personal attacks, but let him post what he wants. Lets face it. These cars and the knowledge base with them is getting rarer by the day. We need those with good input to post when there is an issue that can't be solved by normal thinking.

David Conn Andrew, the deleted posts you mentioned were all deleted by tom himself, not the admins. This is his pattern. The truth is the forum is a happier place, and he has done nothing but anger, divide and be disrespectful multiple times to multiple forum members. This is not a personal thing. I have nothing against a man i have never met or spoken to. I do have issue with people who demand respect but show none to others. Its not the message, its the messenger. He has been banned on other forums for the same behavior. I am sure there is a forum out there worthy and deserving of his perfect knowledge of everything. I along with 99% of the forum, most of whom are long time members manage to communicate over thousands of posts and threads with respect and friendship. Even when in disagreement. I dont have to ignore him because he is gone and i wish him luck in his internet journey. I respect his skills, but not the man.

Tom Falconieri And that's what's funny Andrew, we have built tons of these cars, tons of 5.0s, my dads been working on 2.3s since 1974 with my moms new pinto and my dad and I have built dozens and dozens of award winning cars, not only at shows but the track.

People get on the Internet and everybody can tell you how to do something, and they have never done it, my father and I have been there, and done it, between us both we have had 6+ fox tbirds, and I'd say 10 mustangs. You could ask my dad anything and he would help someone in a jam in a heartbeat, he's forgotten more things then " professionals " know.. But with that, you get morons like David that's probably built 1 car in his life but will preach to people like us and it's just funny. Every day I see people of forums spreading absolute garbage and false information and have 20 people that agree with them, it's priceless

We got banned from turboford.. Who cares? Does that stop us from building cars? No. Do we lose sleep over it? No, the funny thing is guys on these pages need guys like us that actually have correct information, we don't need them. I got banned years ago and built plenty of fox cars with no forums

David Conn Tom , i am not a moron, nor do i claim to be a mechanic of any kind. I know very basic auto repair, and listen intently to those who know more than i, your dad included. I never derided your fathers skill or ability, or experience. Try and read my words instead of picking a fight where there isnt one. What you just did here is exactly what your dad does. You ignore whats relevant and choose to sidestep the actual conversation which is about his behavior and manners. Your answer instead of looking inward to see why are all these people so set on banning us, is to muddy the discussion with irrelevant things about builds, budgets and experience.

Tom Falconieri Dave it's just funny, you say he has a lot of knowledge and have learned from him yet post things and say so long.

He would help each and every person on that page if he could, no matter how he comes off online

David Conn Read my previous comments tom. I just prefer harmony, and a peaceful forum with old friends and no drama. I have not said a single negative comment about your skill, knowledge or ability. I dont debate your builds, budgets or clients. This is about showing dignity and some class, and taking ownership of the fact that an entire group of basically very nice regular car guys want him gone. Are we all crazy? This is not a lynch mob. There have been dozens of warnings this was coming. Just for the record, i tried sending your dad business 3 months ago. I sent 3 pm's, posted on the forum, and recieved no reply or even a thank you.

And there you have it.

If he was so willing to help people why then did he not contact you when you reached out to him for a person local to him that needed assistance?

I see he left a trumpet horn comment.  I laughed!

Right, if that were the case they wouldn't be building TC's and F-bodies that are id dire need for paint.

NO PERSON who owns a LaFerrari (how many of those are in the US now anyway, ONE? -- Edit 120 -- color me shocked it was that many) would go outside the Ferrari network for it; even to a shop with Ferrari certified techs (not buying that either).  That car is an investment and will likely only see  a few hundred miles in a decade.  If the work isn't done at an actual Ferrari dealership, the value will plummet.

Renzo did have some good information sometimes but quite honestly I would rather struggle through and figure things out myself than accept assistance from him with his assholish, condescending, know-it-all attitude.  He seemed to operate with the mentality that there was the Renzo way and the wrong way with room for nothing in between.

Does anybody know the name of the "shop" that they own/work at?  I think it would be interesting to read through online reviews of it and see what his customers think.  I can't imagine him interacting with paying customers with his lack of people skills.  I always did find it odd that he never mentioned his shops name (or I might have missed it...) considering how proud he was of the work the constantly shoved in our faces.
