15 inch Mustang or T-Bird rims

I went out over the holidays and bought a complete set of 215/70R15 tires with only 2000 miles on them. I took the turbine wheels that I now hopefully have sold to a tire shop to have them put these new tires on. However, the new tires are enough narrower than the turbine wheels that the tire guy said they wouldn't look right.

So, I am looking for a set of 15" 4 lug rims that I can put these awesome low mileage tires on. If anyone has any please let me know. Thanks.

Might be better off selling the tires and locating some 215/65, or even some 225/60 tires...likely easier that route than finding a 7" bead-to-bead 4 lug wheel with the proper backspace.

I've got a set of ten holes with so-so tires....I'd have to look them over really good to see if they're cracked. I had them on my '89 5.0 convertible I parted out last year, but I can't remember the shape the rubber is in. Wheels are excellent, though. If nothing else, and the tires are actually good, I could peel them off and sell you the tires....IF they're good.

Let me look tomorrow...I've got to get pics of some parts for another fella here, no biggie to drag 4 wheels/tires out in the sun and take a few more pics. ;)

Another option...find some 16" tires...I've got 2 complete sets of TC snowflakes, caps and all...I'd make you a decent deal on the 'flakes if you went that route. How far are you from Kansas City...I need to get down to the pick n pulls and look for a couple of things...

???????????

Stock turbines and 10 holes ARE 15 X 7.......

You sure the tire guy just didn't want a set of turbines on the cheap?

X2. I have 275/60's on a set of 10 holes. I've had 215/70's on 5.5" wide 14" steelies. Time to get a new tire guy. This guy is screwing you.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

The turbine wheels have bald 225/60R15s on them. I'm just not sure if the narrower, taller tires would fit/look decent. If you guys think they'd fit, I might go ahead and keep the turbines.

I'm in McPherson, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours from KC.
I have thought about selling the tires, but it seems now days that nobody wants larger 15" tires. The guy I bought them from had his ad up for over a month before I came along. Plus, these are a really good brand.

They'll fit all day long.  They'll just be a bit taller is all.

I can't upload the picture, but I put the 215/70R15 tire next to the turbine wheel with a 225/60R15 tire on it and the turbine wheel looks somewhat wider. I'm just concerned that the taller, narrower tires will be spread out on the wide rims. That's what a friend of mine said. He also said it would stress the sidewalls of the narrower tires.

A 215 tire is about 3/8" narrower than a 225. This small difference in width won't be noticeable - in fact, a Chinese el-cheapo 225 might be narrower than a good quality 215. Tire sizes are not 100% accurate (they are more of a "nominal" size), which is why you shouldn't mix brands on an AWD vehicle. Also, the taller sidewall would negate any "stress" that might occur from putting them on a wide rim. And any tire with no air in it is going to look narrower than an inflated/mounted tire

Really, by all means, if you can use them please do so.  I would prefer you to keep/use them if you can.  I just couldnt pass that set for a cheap price.

I have a set on my car currently and a set of Pony's I need to sell.

Hey Mike,
What size are the pony wheels you need to sell? Do they fit a fox body? If they are 15s, maybe we could work out a trade of some sort. Of course I'd come up with some money on top of the wheels.
