I know I said I wasn't a big fan of the BB's, but if someone gave me one, I'd take it. How about you all? Here's an '88 BB with velour seats. My only beef  is that the pillow-top sections could have been a lot thicker.

A PDR guy can work that spot down to almost unnoticeable.

Step 1:  Recondition driver's seat

Step 2:  Subframes -- this oughtta be interesting.  Does ANYONE make them for these?

Step 3:  Find out what (if any) modifications have been done other than the exhaust.

I'm honestly not looking to go bananas with the power on this car.  I plan on keeping the stock cam.  If I can snag a set of old school non P GT40 heads and a better than stock intake on the cheap (I'd like to keep that a Ford piece as well), that would do it.  I think a radiator just like the one I put in the Cougar( http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=M8005A+01 ) along with an heavy Duty fan clutch (Hayden part # 2783) and a good transmission cooler ( http://www.amazon.com/Long-Tru-Cool-Transmission-Cooler-4454/dp/B005XZXB1M )  No raising the redline another 1200 RPM, no need to swap out the stock torque converter.

Who knows.  Some of this may be done already.

Oh, and a one wire 3g style alternator swap....

Added thought.....  If ever any Ford product needs loud Cadillac style trumpet horns, it's a Lincoln personal luxury coupe.

I'd take a 91-92 Bill Blass no problem. Those were the years the suspension and wheels were the same between the Bill Blass and LSC. 88 and up Bill Blass Marks also have the 5.0 HO just like the LSC. They just have softer springs and wire wheels till 91.

Hopefully the pdr guy can get the dent out of the 89.

An Explorer GT40 intake and GT40 heads should work fine with the stock Mark VII computer and cam. When I was running GT40P heads on my combo I had a Mark VII SD computer for awhile. Ran fine.

About two weeks before I bought my Mark VII I sold the GT40P heads I pulled from my Thunderbird as well as a spare Explorer GT40 intake I had sitting around. Figures :hick:

Well, as per usual, every fox body I deal with starts with leaking from the lower heater pipe line on top of the intake.  The clamp was rather loose.  Hopefully tightening it did the trick.  Had this same issue with the Cougar and it would keep coming back until I finally swapped to the Good Year blue hoses.  Standard replacement hoses would always seem to last less than a year.  Did some troubleshooting on the driver side window.  It's the motor.  Picked one up brand new from a local store.

check this out: an 85 LSC with the digital cluster, was the buttstuffog not yet available? Also, how weird is it to see CFI & ABS together?

The older LSC's 84-86 had the older CFI set up.  The Bill Blass models came with the electronic cluster.  I think the base Mark VII cars also had the digital cluster.  I am still learning about these cars, so lots of info to absorb still.

ALL Ford 5.0's went sequential in 1986. Base, Bill Blass & 84-85 LSC's had the digital (just found this out), the buttstuffog cluster's first year was 1986. Wanna hear something crazy? 1984-85 Continental sedans and Mark VII's had a BMW-sourced 2.4L I6 Turbocharged Diesel option, good luck getting Ford to touch one now!!

That diesel was only made in the hundreds, not very popular.

Well, it was fun getting the car to stop leaking.  There were TWO leaks.  The lower heater core hoes (bad enough) and the rear EGR coolant line that ends at the back of the intake manifold.  I forgot how much of a pain in the rear this was to tighten.  There's a lot more room back there on my Cougar due to no A/C and me actually going to lengths to make it uncluttered.

I replaced the heater core hoses without issue along with the EGR lines.  I THOUGHT the bottom clamp was tight......  Didn't work.
So....what did I do?  I took the upper intake manifold off, of course!  Finding new throttle body gaskets was fun.....

Anyhow, the car is currently not leaking, all my light housings are crack free, the driver window now works, and my wheels showed up this morning!
