Stop exaggerating Stacks! 20 Minutes??? NOPE. We do them in 2-2 1/2 hours. Jay it actually takes more time to cut the firewall then replace the core. One of my cars was cut. But i am repairing it as we speak. I have a couple of firewall sections in the tailor to repair cut walls. But if done correctly on an everyday DD it is not bad to cut the wall. You just have to have a section of that firewall from a wreck to make it look good.

I cant see it being done in 20 mins. Unless you are ripping the hell out of everthing. I like to take my time and not crack/break something. Working AC will slow you down also. Floor shift slows you down. Not breaking your speaker covers slows you down, Not cracking the dash pad slows you down. Not fouling up the hvac vacuum and wiring slows you down.

Itwas a bit ofan exaggeration, but ive done one in less then an hour. I have never done one with the center console, only consolette cars, so that really speeds things up.

Speaker covers pop off easily, a few bolts on the door trim and drop the steering colum and your about done.

Stacks an HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!! Not buying it. I am fast and it takes me like i said 2-2.5. Not trying to be critical but that job is not an hour!!

I did my bronco in a white shirt and tie
got home, wife said the core shipped, I went out to look at it.... quick pop and the glove box is out, a few more quick this and than and the core is suddenly out.
I did the full size bronco in 20min piddling around... and this is no lie.

I stayed amazingly clean throughout the whole job.

In my car with no A/C I can do it in a hair under 2 hours. I could probably shave 15 to 20 minutes off of that time, but I have a habit of cleaning/getting rid of dust and gunk as I go. I changed the clock in my dash over the summer. Vacuumed behind there while it was open. Took me about double the time because of that.

I'm getting ready to replace mine this weekend in the '87. It was changed a few years ago, but while replacing the engine the rubber hose snagged the engine on the way up and broke the tubing off from the core. It took most of an afternoon to replace.
