tranny pan leak

I've replaced the gasket twice still leaking any ideas? 86 aod
any tips would be great

If it is a stock pan you have to PEEN down the bolt holes with a BALL PEEN HAMMER. Install a quality gasket not CORK. And torque to specks. If it leaks after that the pump seal might be the issue. Sometimes the pump leaks and it looks like the pan. Also the shifter shaft seal should be checked closely. have a great thursday guys.

Tom, you have any ideas how many 4l60 pans I see that are leaking because the pans bolt holes are whooped from being over tightened once.......  Great advice you gave him.

Well thank you for the kind words. You can use a thick bar in your shop vice to make sure the pan is not warped and peen the holes true. The bar in the vice works pretty good. Have a great day guys.

This is why most transmission pans leak. Bent bolt holes.
