Steering wheel. Not much to choose from!

I've been reading here on this forum and on the internet with not much luck. I think a new custom steering wheel adds a LOT to the looks of the interior! Looks like I might have to buy a steering wheel and hook up my own switches for cruise control (being I will be traveling more). Anybody else modify your steering wheel or find a nice custom placement? Thanks!

I have a MUSTANG WHEEL on the MIDNIGHTER. Trashed all that CRUSE stuff years ago. But if you want to keep the stuff just relocate it somewhere else and put on any wheel you want!!!! Just a thought. I hate stuff on the wheel. Everytime i drive my ANNIVERSARY Camaro i hit the wheel and the oldies radio station changes !!!!!

DONT YOU HATE THAT!!!!!!

I also want to keep my steering wheel simple. Although I think having the cruise control on the steering wheel is essential. The nice thing about "custom" is the ergonomics. Having the switches set up so that the car and you are one. CoogarXR, I missed all that information during my search. Thanks!

Grant has an excellent selection of wheels, which are worth considering. Most of them can be made to work on any car with an adapter. I'm seriously considering one of their black racing wheels for my project. I have one of their hand-rubbed mahogany wheels in my Lincoln and it's a seriously beautiful and nice quality piece. It really does make driving the car much nicer and more comfortable, vs the stock wheel. Some of them are a little expensive though.

I installed a super coupe wheel when the stock one wore out.  Its a direct bolt on and the cruise control buttons work without any modifications.

I also like wood wheels. I had a Momo on my Mazda M6 and the adapter cost almost as much as the car. I also agree that a nice wheel makes a big difference in the enjoyment of the car (Got that Captain Kirk  going on... lol). So, all I need to do now is find a nice wheel, some small switches, fork out some more money and I'm set. Thanks!

I just swapped a MOMO Monte Carlo into mine today. Ditched the cruise stuff as I never use it but MOMO sells a kit to install the 87-93 Mustang switches if you want

My car had a dealer (I think) add-on cruise that is on the wiper handle. It looks like the regular wiper handle, it just has the cruise buttons across the top. I took pics way back here -> http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?24435-Ever-see-this-weird-combo

i have a brand NOS one of those haha was a dealer option

Very Nice! I like the way you have all your gauges set up as well. I just finished putting my new gauges in my car yesterday. I need to check out the MOMO kit  you refer to, as well as their wheels. I really liked my MOMO wheel, it was a very quality wheel. Thanks!

I went with a grant wheel and adapter. The beauty of the adapter (for me anyways) is that it brings the wheel about 2" closer.
