Clutch swapping tomorrow............

I had a missing or whatever it was issue with the engine for some time, got that fixed, then the clutch turned to . I haven't had a truly great drive in some time. SO, tomorrow I'm going to swap the clutch and related pieces then go for a nice drive and let the clutch get broke in. I'm sharing this useless bit of info because it's a slow day, and I have been busy all day, but accomplished nothing.

I think I'll swap the header gaskets too. Might as well while I'm ripping into the rest of it.

I just swapped that a few months ago when we installed the new rings and bearings. Should be good. if there are any questions of leakage when I get in there....it'll be swapped as well.

What was the MISS FIRE?????

Just a question????? Why did you not change the clutch when you put in the new engine.  Just curious!!!

I didn't have a problem with it at that time. Apparently is was closer to going to  than I thought.

As far as the misfire....I swapped the coil and it got better, removed the module from the distributor and replaced it with a Ford (NOS PART) module, and it seems to have done the job. I also replaced all of the sensors on the engine except the ACT sensor......which I have a replacement for sitting on the work bench. Clutch first.

A stock style replacement for now. I didn't have time to wait. I have to get a new one in before Monday. 95% of my driving is two miles to work, 40 mph, and 2 miles back......40 mph. So for now, it'll be just fine, and compared to what the current clutch is doing, light years better. The car is going through a lot of changes over the next few months, and there will be plenty of time to upgrade again. The current clutch is a King Cobra. I have to say, I actually miss the soft pedal feel of a stock style pressure plate.

TAMPA CLUTCH when you need a clutch that is rated for more HP. They make a good reasonably priced units

I'll worry about the next when the time comes. For now, gotta install this one, and I'd rather be doing something else tomorrow. LOL.

You have time to install an intake to!!

I was thinking about taking the polished GT-40 off, and replacing it with the black crinkle/polished ends GT-40.

Not sure if I want to yet. Clutch first. I do want to swap them for a while, as the polished upper has a few scratches from shipping on the tank end. I want to smooth them out, re-polish it, then we'll see what happens. No hurry, they are both easy to access.
