Needing a transmission bad

A good friend of mine is in need of a transmission for his 1995 mustang cobra it has a five speed. also a good rebuild kit for one would work as well.

On craigslist, in Kansas City, there's a guy who rebuilds T5s, I am sure the '95 Cobra used something else, but he may be worth a call at least. Just type in T5 in the KC section...should see his ad smoewhere in there

The sn95's had the longer input shaft and bellhousing. I've heard you can use either one, but match them. Its about 3/4" further back on 94-95 5.0 and 94-04 v-6's.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I just installed one. The 95 cobra r is the rarest of the t-5s yes it works yes you need a different bellhousing and no a standard t-5 rebuild kit will not work. The 95 is good for around 600hp and is a great trans. I did have to trim the opening in the tunnel for the shifter( mine was auto). Also the input shafts are different 28 spline instead of 10

The '95 Cobra R did not come with a T5.

It was a tremec in a 95 cobra t-5 based but holds much more power/torque.
