Time for an update!

I've been on vacation for the past two weeks so I haven't been here much.

The garage now has the roof sheeted but not shingled. I don't have any pictures from the past week so I'll just post what I have.

In the first picture you'll see that the walls are all sheeted up. That's my brother, Ches, on the right and my father, Alf, on the left.

Pic 2 - The roof trusses arrived on July 5th. See the birch fire wood in the foreground? My father and I sawed up and stacked 5 corde in 5 days. As my stepson said "Not bad for a fellow in a wheelchair and an 84 year old man" :) We could have done it faster but it's kinda hot here right now for sawing up firewood - we took a lot of breaks.

Pic 3 - Finally the roof trusses are up. This is the view that most people will see of my house. It's from the corner and it appears that the garage is detached. I'll get some more pictures in the next day or two.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Thanks for the comments, I'll take them as compliments :).

I don't have much plans for the interior yet but I do have a line on a two post lift for around $1K. It's about 5-6 years old and is electric/hydrolic operated.

The only problem is the ceiling height is only 8'10" and the posts are 10' :( I don't have to worry about raising the car very high. If I can get it 4'- 5' off the floor I'll be able to work comfortable in the wheelchair.

The only other plans are to put a 220V drop for a future welder and a hose connection for my pressure washer.

Nope! not yet. I've got the interior cleaned out so the guys can fill it in and get ready to pour the floor. They are suppose to be here today or tomorrow. I shouldn't have any problems fitting the cars. 28' deep and 32' wide

I figured it's time for another update.
The roof is finished and the doors are in. All that's lift on the list for this fall is to do the floor, siding, and to get the new T-Bird in there. :)

The last picture is of the new roof on the house.

EDIT: no garage is complete without a pile of tires in front :)

Couldn't help but notice that your new roof is surrounded by Christmas lights. In September. You Newfoundlanders are crazy :D

Nice garage - now you just need a tire machine so you can send me those rims :D

You show me how to climb up a ladder in a wheelchair and I'll take them down. ;)

Now Edmontonians, they have no excuse, but still leave their lights up for most of the year, if not all.

Oh, so you can build a garage and put a new roof on, but you can't take down Christmas lights? :hick:

I'm sure we could rig something up with pulleys, cables, an electric motor, a hydraulic pump, two porcupines, and six tons of Raisin Bran...

...Wait a minute. Forget it - I just remembered, porcupines are allergic to raisins :yuck:

I suppose I shouldn't talk - mine are still up (I'm terrified of heights, so they'll rot off before I go up and remove em)

You'll have to send over the porcupines. There are none on the Island. :D

Actually I told the wife if they ever came down again they'll never go back up. When my stepson put them up, she told him to staple them to the facia, the aluminium facia

BTW, the only work I've done is what i could reach from the ground. My brother did the rest.

EDIT: I did rent a bobcat to spread around the stone for under the floor. Man, was that ever a fun thing to drive. Everything was operated by handcontrols. Getting in it was a  though. I had to climb in over the bucket.
