mass air benefits

i know that to really get the most out of the 5.0 eithe h.0 or s.o i need to do the mass air conversion. the question is are there any immediate benifits (horsepower, gas milage, drivabilty) out of the change with out doing any other mods.

You can't conveert a SO to mass air unless you can find a CA '91 Crown Vic EEC, basically would be a waste of time.

If you convert a HO to mass air, it will get slightly better gas milage but be a little slower(the Stang rags all conferm this). As far as drivability I didn't see any difference(And I was trying to get rid of a slight buck at part throttle). Car was a stock '86 Stang, found switching from Exxon to Amoco fuel fixed it... This was back in '94, I've bought Exxon fuel since only if it was all that is availabe, maybe
3 times(naw I don't hold a grudge very long, :flip: Exxon) and then just enough to get to another station.

After I found it lost .25 at the drag strip, I converted it back to SD..
