Well, i locate my stuff by scouring ebay and craigslist as many of you do. Very often you can find ad's with typo's and no one else can see them when you type out things correctly. For example, if you searched 1983 Thunderbird, you wont see a search result that is labeled "83-86 Thunderbird". I also have a large network of pals on here and several other car sites from all over the USA. I got the NOS mouldings from a CL ad from Michigan. I called a Torino pal from the same town as the ad, and he ran over same day and paid cash and shipped the stuff right out. Jerry, (DaminC) from here just sent me a new set of TRX tires from a CL auction i found in his hometown. I jumped all over it and got some help. Thats the key, you snooze, you lose.......A little luck goes a long way too. There is NOS stuff being dug out of dealer old stock all the time, it just makes it to the marketplace in drips and drabs. Until someone takes more of an interest in these cars, we all just have to be resourceful and help each other. Its actually easier to locate NOS stuff for a 70 Torino than 83 Bird.......parts for these cars are non-existant. If you mod your car in any way, save what you take off....if not for your future resto, someone else could use that stock radio or front moulding etc..... I found a pair of like new front leather seats for my car because i broadened my search and the seller had them listed for a 86 Bird. I saw the pic, i called to verify that i was bidding on what was shown, and stole them for $75 shipped with seat tracks and motors attached. You know what reupholstering them would have cost? You just have to be patient, the deals are out there.... Quote Selected
83 Thunderbird parts haul Reply #20 – September 28, 2011, 08:49:20 PM I just cleaned and detailed the tailights, i think they are nicer than what i have on the car currently. The grill cleaned up nice, it has some fading, but all the tabs are there, and no chips, cracks or breaks. i am putting the NOS grill and this one side by side so you can see how it looks. The grill ornament is chipped slightly on the left side. The emblem and grill are for an 83/84 car. I dont need them so if someone here can use them make me a fair offer and they are yours.
