Thanks everybody:D I finally got around to hooking the camera up and getting some pics up

Got this right after she was born:

And then the next morning:

And our first family photo... wanted to get a better one but the nurse came in as I was taking this one and I forgot to get another one lol

So here's the story. My wife had gone for her checkup that morning and they said she was only 1 cm dilated and since we were still 10 days from the due date no one suspected anything and they said she could still have 1-2 weeks to go.

Well that night as I was out tearing my engine apart to replace the timing gasket that blew on me, I came back inside to have some dinner and she said that she had just had some green discharge and was hurting. We thought it could have been that here water broke but weren't sure, and thought she might have started labor but didn't really know what it felt like, and didn't think it likely to have started it yet. Well anyway, two more hours and the pain was getting really bad so we drove up to the hospital. We got there at about 10:10 and they sent her right up to labor.

The first girl that was triaging her was thinking that she only had a stomach virus because she was throwing up and couldn't really say if she was having contractions or not. Well she went to check for dilation and all off a sudden seemed shocked and said she would have to call in one of the more experienced nurses cause she wasn't sure if she was feeling what she thought she was. The next nurse came in and checked and verified what the first one was thinking, which was that my wife was fully dilated, and +2 station. They said the baby is coming, RIGHT NOW. So they called her doctor but he was out of town so the midwife was on her way.

around 10:40 she was pushing, and at 11:08 we had a baby! It was really crazy I mean it all just happened so fast it was a lot to take in. Because a 3 hour labor was not at all what we were expecting, I mean less than an hour in the hospital and bam! but everything turned out alright:D

Rebecca is surprisingly quiet she doesn't really cry much but she is a squirmy little thing. She's really strong for her age too. From birth she was able to move her head around and even pick it up and she still does a lot. She's always fighting with me when I change her cause she likes to keep her leg's in the way but she's fun. I don't always show it, but I really am so happy. I think when she was born was the most emotion I've ever felt at one time. I can't wait to start watching her grow up:D

It's a good thing you went when you did. If you would've waited to much longer you would have been playing doctor yourself! I would've made for a good story though!
