fuel line clamp back thingy

How does this part come off?

We found a temporary repair on the fuel line coming out of the filter going under this clamp thing and the line had some rubber tape on it.

I made the repair but would like to remove the clamp to dress it back under.  Otherwise, I will leave it zip tied to the group if i need to.  Apparently, it had been leaking for a while and finally gave out last night leaving my son stranded in just the perfect spot,, in our driveway about 1200 feet down the drive.  Imagine how stumped i was when i had spark and smelled fuel but the shrader valve wouldnt spit out a drop.  Oh, it was dark as hell and no light other than an under the hood bulb.  We pulled it up to the shop and fixed it today.

what i difference fuel pressure makes,,lol.  this repair made the slugish feeling go away along with some of the ticking noise.  Im now wondering if code 34 has gone bye bye.

This car is in excellent shape!

How do I subscribe? I think you should drop everything right now, even if you are at work, like me, and go test for code 34. haha. Obviously I'm joking, but I am interested in your findings.

edit** Figured out how to subscribe.

i am curious if it was fuel delivery related since i know the psi was low due to the break in the line.
now wouldnt that figure!

You have to drill out the steel rivets.  Not an easy task without destroying the plastic holder.  Once you drill them out, I guess you'd have to drill through the floor pan and re-attach with screws or small bolts.  Of course, you'd have to pull up the carpet and insulation to attach bolts.

I'd suggest you thread the new plastic fuel line through the holder before re-attaching to the ends - and NOT take the holder off.

Isn't code 34 related to the EVP? How is the EVP related to fuel? I have an on demand code 34 too. I've been trying to trace a short of some sort for a week, with the help of Joel over at SBF. I think it may come back to that pesky orange wire on the back of the intake that some people ground, others don't.

JCassity, can you look and see if you have an orange wire with no end on it on your bird?  It comes out of the bottom of the white ten pin connector on the intake.

So... did the fixing of the fuel leak fix the code 34?
