new paint job idea February 01, 2011, 07:24:08 PM Hey guyswell to go along with my new top end, Ive decided to spend some time brightening the cat up a little. after a couple of ideas, some a little more outrageous than others, and a survey of some close friends who see the car the most, I have come up with an idea that i think both looks good, and can be done in the little time i have to work on my cars. It will just be a flat black, and a bit of a clear coat finish, just to keep the shiny, and ill be putting a "302 - 4" in the space just after the roll over the fender. let me know what you guys think! new paint job idea Reply #2 – February 01, 2011, 07:36:47 PM Im not sure.I say put some 10-holes or turbine wheels on it with new tires. Quote Selected
new paint job idea Reply #4 – February 01, 2011, 09:02:22 PM @Blackbird1 - i thought about it, ill post a pic, after seeing it i thought it felt a little too heavy on the front end, but let me know what you think:@Mcb82gt - Im thinking about it, once i get some extra money for new tires i might have the rims on there remounted. i pulled the hubs off for winter, and they look okay as black steelies, but it'd be nice to have some turbines.@RunninWild - rebuilding the intake on the engine, new Edlebrock performer RPM intake and a 4bbl Holley carb. new paint job idea Reply #5 – February 01, 2011, 09:26:17 PM I think "no" on the center stripe. How about "302-4V", that would match the Mustang air cleaners of the day. Or "Five Liter", "5.0", "5.0L", "302" or some similar variation to the Boss lettering from the 69/70. No matter what, you're going to need wheels equal to the task. Wire covers ain't gonna cut it. new paint job idea Reply #6 – February 01, 2011, 10:47:42 PM I think it'd be cool if you put "Cougar" where you want to put "302-4". Quote Selected
new paint job idea Reply #7 – February 01, 2011, 11:21:35 PM I'm voting "No". It just doesn't fit the car. On a Stang, I'd say yes. On these cars, I say "more subtle". Quote Selected

new paint job idea Reply #12 – February 02, 2011, 03:11:09 PM I'd like to see the original photo with the nose body-colored, and maybe another without the hood stripes. Quote Selected
new paint job idea Reply #13 – February 02, 2011, 03:13:40 PM I say no to all the stripes. A nice paintjob will look good without stripes. Quote Selected
