part interchange w/ mustang?

i want to build a fox body street and strip car but hate how everybody has mustangs around me. plus i have a 68 cougar. will aftermarket susp parts and 460 swap be the same for a cougar as mustangs ?

i want to stay under a 95 for inspection reasions but id realy like to get a 86 or older so i can regster it historic. once i get some more info on this il research what years are best for what i want to do. (a 11 sec 460 powerd street car)

If you stay with the '83-'88 years Cougar's or Thunderbirds, just about everything from a Fox body mustang will interchange with a little modification.

Stay away from the '89-'97's though, they are a lot less mod friendly and it is a lot more work and $$$ to put aftermarket stang parts on.
