Love that pic! It's motivated me to get on the ball and start doing my body work and painting my car end of the month. I can't wait. :) My car will look like a distant (and slower) cousin to yours. lol (I've got similar wheels, but I'll be all black and with a cougar front end)

EDIT: and yeah, its my wallpaper right now too :)

wastegate actuator broke off.

So you found the problem, or that's what it is acting like?

That was the problem.  It actually broke the pin off the turbo elbow lever, so I modified a IHI actuator and put it on since its pin was on the actuator rod.

Great!

How's it running now, then? Feeling like it should?

well, its not running very good right now because I updated the firmware in the megasquirt so I could use tunerstudio and spent all afternoon trying to get it to run again.  When I finally did get it running, then I couldnt retune it because I didnt have my registration info for tunerstudio for VELive.  I will go back tonight to try driving it around to tune itself, IF it would quit raining.  Slicks FTL in rain

ok well the megasquirt has been fighting me since I updated that firmware, and finally messed around with the megasquirt enough times, I broke a pin off the processor:(  After that happened I had enough and robbed the bamafuel(MS1) out of my red car, and got it running on that this week, but the timing wasnt holding.  It would retard almost 40* on a free rev.  This had me scratching my head all last week, and finally dad helped me figure it out.  I had power on the start wire for the spout and couldnt figure out why.  I knew I had put a diode on that wire.  I hadn't thought about another wire backfeeding it.  Turns out I had the coil hot wire coming off the same terminal on the starter solenoid(since power to the coil is lost when the key is turned to start).  I ran that wire without even thinking about it messing with other stuff.  1 diode and it holds timing perfectly, but the ms1 won't control the timing at all.  If I set the program to ford tfi ignition, it wont even run, so I have all the ignition options turned off and am currently running it at 25* locked timing.
That must be working since I ran at an autox at toledo express airport and held FTD for 2 heats!  This car is pretty well balanced, but my rear swaybar is too stiff because its lifting the inside rear.  I only had a light mark where the front tire hit the fender so its setup relatively good already.  I will probably weld extensions on the swaybar and figure out how to attatch it farther forward, or find a smaller bar.

Should be easy to repair the pin on the MS2.  I just finished putting my MS2 together and testing it.  Might bug ya if I run into problems.
My car is a gravity hybrid.  The gasoline engine gets me up the hills, and gravity gets me down.

Shows you had the burgandy car; they need to update their database??

You should put your results in the autoX thread!
