What I ment, is I have the consolette thingy right now, and want to convert to a console because I wouldn't even be able to mount anything to the transmission tunnel without it.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I have not totally abandoned this idea.

After (or maybe before) the t-5 is in, I am going to go ahead and install a console, on which I will test a few more ideas I am working up right now that might be feasable. In this case I will of course need a fully intact console.

Hint: I am cashing in on the whole "two ashtrays and no cupholders" flaw, and it will probably involve a wholesome little bit of sheet metal fabbing. I am not exactly sure on the design, and if it goes in the direction I think it will, it will probably be way to custom for you guys to use.

In either case, I will keep you guys posted.

I love the challenge of fabrication for such things.

When you say you plan to put in a T-5, this will elliminate the room for forward cupholders, but I suppose it's possible to take the area of the front ashtray and make at least one cupholder provided that it does not interfere with shifting and throwing your slushy into the seat or on the floor.

....and awesome.I'm waiting for a week, then I'll have time to grab my few supplies and get busy.It should only be a couple of days from start to finish if I have what i need.I want it to look factory though. Now,it may turn out to be a total failure.Who knows. But,in my mind's eye,It should work out.

Sometimes watching Vinnie come up with stuff is like watching Wile E. Coyote (super genius) at work.

Oh I get what Vinnie is doing now.... The first ever actual cup hole recessed into the seat cushion so you can set it down between your legs...

I can't have a cupholder.... My car's going to be so fast, that it would just end up in the back seat anyway... lol
