not a whole lot, you will lose some but not enough to really worry about.  make sure you bleed off the fuel pressure at the valve in the fuel rail before you disconnect the fuel lines ;)

Not even a small bowl full of fuel. Very little.Once you unplug the fuel lines from the old filter, cap the ends and you'll lose even less fluid.

You can also unplug the inertia switch in your trunk, start the car and let it run out of fuel.  Start it again until it dies and that should get most of it...but you will still have some run out.

in the firewall side on the intake on the fuel rail there is a little shrader valve, remove the cap and push it with a pointy object (watch your eyes and do this with the key off).

I generally just unhook the lines at the filter (once again watch your eyes). My way looking at it is; if your going to lose fuel, I would just soon lose it under the car rather than under the hood. JMHO :D
...and there was light!

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

ha ha I just clamp each end of the line w/ vice grips. (not too tight you don't wanna damage them) and pull them off the filter. works every time. no fuel loss

I don't lose much of anything through the lines,it's the filter itself. That';s why I sometimes cap the ends....depending on where I change it.Most of the time I just swap it in the Autozone lot....takes 3 minutes, and don't care if I spill a little.LOL. I swap mine 3 times a year. They are cheap, and easy to swap, plus,no worries ever.

IF you have a nearly full tank of gas, it's possible for fuel to siphon from the tank(esp if the rear is high), either be sure the front is higher than rear or change it with a 1/4 tank...
