Washer Fluid in-line filter? April 06, 2010, 05:04:50 PM Hey all, I was cleaning up all the leaves/etc from my cowl area and realized there was a leak when I ran the washer fluid pump. The leak was right at the in-line filter that's near the wiper motor, at the firewall. I tried to take a better look at the leak, when I did the filter broke apart. One nipple at the end snapped inside the rubber hose. Any ideas where I can find another filter? It's an '88 Cougar. Quote Selected

Washer Fluid in-line filter? Reply #4 – April 09, 2010, 09:13:41 AM I don't even know if the washer pump on mine even works as I haven't used it in almost 7 years. Hell I used the wipers last year for the first time in 6 years:hick:I think that other 80's Fords have the same filter. Quote Selected
Washer Fluid in-line filter? Reply #5 – April 09, 2010, 06:36:14 PM It's not a filter it's a one way check valve. It allows fluid flow only in the outward direction,it keeps fluid in the line not allowing it to freeze. You don't need it. Quote Selected

I wondered if mine cracked because it actually froze in Houston and I had too much water in my system. Hmmmph. Quote Selected

These are sold as a HELP! item at most auto parts stores. Quote Selected
