roll cages April 05, 2010, 07:56:16 PM i know a bunch of you guys have them, who are you all using, what do you like about them, and what kinda cage is it (weld in, bolt in, 4,6,8 point etc.)as soon as i get rid of this on-call pager sometime next week im gonna start the through the floor sub frame connectors, then a cage. ill put up some pictures of my progress so far, but i got most of that tar paper out and almost all the interior out say the headliner and dash... o, and i found out why my battery was dieing on me, ill put up pix of that too... glad i found it before it burn the car down.thanks guys,:D Quote Selected

roll cages Reply #3 – April 07, 2010, 06:11:09 PM Here's my post of the S&W kit I put in this winter. It is an 8 point and would be legal to 10.0 for the drags. You need an halo bar if you think you will go faster than 10. You are legal without a bar down to 11.5 now and I did not get one till I hit 11.45 last year and got to go to tech.http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=26778The S&W kit is nice but the bars that go to the trunk will eliminate your back seat. The only problem I had is that you had to trim the main loop for height and to make it even, and I think I cut it about a inch lower than maybe I should have. roll cages Reply #4 – April 08, 2010, 03:24:08 PM yeah i cant see the car ever going faster then 10.0, when all is said and done im hoping for low 11's but thats down a ways still lol... the car will see the drag strip more then auto x, but it is going to be more of a road race car that i can drive to the track. what sucks is the auto x tracks are all pretty far away, or cost crazy money to race at, thats the only reason i'll be at the quarter mile more often.thanks guys, and Ted, thats the pictures i was searching for but couldn't find, just got gumbi's thread... i was thinking of where to weld the main hoop to, and the bars that go from it to the back, i'll have through the floor sfc's soon and i was thinking i should weld the cage to them but i also didn't know where to weld the bars that go into the trunk. me thinks i'll need to look up some rules before i go welding things together, i don't want something to be a inch off and not be able to race...thanks again, i'll be posting some pictures soon, i get paid tomorrow so i'll be picking up some 2x3" box tubing to get the sfc's done Quote Selected
