Wheel/tires

So I bought some 16" rims off my sister for 100 bucks with low profile tires they are semi nice mustang thick five spokes. But the person who had them before us burnt off the back ones, and two 245/50/16 are 200 bucks new! And my local shop doesn't have used so is it worth it to buy the rims and tires or look for what I REALLY want (cobra rims) with tires?:mullet:

I assume your talking about Ponys. They are pretty nice rims, but if you want a different kind of rim I would hold off. Save up every penny, if you pass on these you are $100+ closer to the rims you really want. Not to mention that you'll have to pick up two tires for these too.
BTW, are you talking about the Cobra Rs or the 93' Cobras? I dream of a 87/88 Turbo Coupe with 93 Cobras.....

As I said before about your exhaust, don't get in a hurry. If you do,you'll be buying for the sake of buying and not getting hat you want.If your current wheels and tires are doing what they need to be doing, then you're good enough.Save your money and do the work right, and get the parts you really want.Patience can really pay off if you use it.Don't let money burn a hole in your pocket.Cobra rims can be found fairly priced used.Look for about a hundred bucks or so for shipping of 4 wheels. You can buy a whole set brand new from one of the companies on Ebay for a really good price. The sets seem a little high when you first look, but if you do the math, buying the set from them (they come with tires mounted and balanced, lugs, and center caps),it cheaper than buying everything individually.Get a second job,do odd jobs around town, whatever, and buy what you really want.Stay focused and ask yourself...."Do I WANT it....or do I NEED it?".If it's a want, most of the time you can pass on it  unless it's one of those rare parts you'll just hardly ever find again.

I agree on the 93 Cobra wheels. That would look good on our cars.

Idk I like the little thin spokes. And ur right. But with school and 35 work hours a week I'm doing alright without that second job. Lol high school is in the way but I'm only in it for auto-body. I'm 16 and have I-car points to my record. :)

OE Wheels
OE Wheels (eBay)
Latemodel Restoration Supply
American Muscle

Which Cobras are you refering to? Vin has the 10th Anniversary Cobra wheels which are available in several different finishes and widths. If you are talking about the Cobra R's those are one of the most common rim used on Mustangs, therefore are the easiest to find.

It's all up to you, it's your car, but the 10th anny Cobra's look better on our cars IMHO. There actually the wheels I'm switching to on my 20th, but I'm getting mine powdercoated gold like the stock wheels.
