There is oil in the plenum? What?

Long sheetrock screw duct taped to the longest screw driver you have  ,
screw the screw into the screen and lift it out
LOTS OF TAPE . you want the screw to stay attached to the driver

I tried that, the screw after being screwed into the screen ripped out, twice. I ended up jerry rigging an old coat hanger and a piece of wire to rip it out. It was filthy, obviously never been changed. Seriously, there must have been an inch of crusty oil around it. Thanks for the reply.  How does a clogged screen make oil go into the lines though? I would think if it were clogged, nothing could go through?

I'm glad you got it out the screw had worked for me before but whatever worked is good

 In simple terms...

The pcv helps to vent the  pressure/vapors from the crankcase (oilpan area)  when it is non functional  the vapors find their way out however they can  and they bring oil with them:D

undo a coathanger up at the hook
straighten out hanger
one end will be hooked
one end will be spiral

puppies the spiral end into the streen then screw the hanger into the screen,,then yank it out.  (yep, thought of that all on my own)

too easy.

the pcv valve is a pita,, sucks bad.

like replied to already,, but mostly due to valve stem seals allowing this to happen  as well as the direct path from the heads down to the oil pan via the oil drain holes on each lower right / left side of the heads.

Well, I had to dig up this old thread. I've driven the car about 1000k miles since I replaced the PCV valve, the screen/ retainer, and the oil leak in this area is back.. It seems to be about the same, if not worse. Anyone have any Ideas? I can't seem to figure this one out. Could something else be clogged or defective causing the oil to come up?

Alright, I took it apart, and so some reason, oil is being sucked up into the PCV valve and coming across the hose which runs into the intake. Now the PCV valve was replaced less than two months ago, along with the screen, and grommet. With a clear screen and the new PCV valve, the problem got worse. Does anyone know why this would happen? Is oil supposed to be in here, and the hose is just worn out leaking, whats the deal?

No it would cause your pcv valve to suck in oil ;)

Really? Or is that a joke, hence the winking face I'm just confused because the only wet area is inside where the PCV valve and screen go. Nothing on the back of the intake anywhere else is wet with oil.

So mine is leaking into the just below the PCV valve, unlike that picture which is leaking away from it? What is a cork end gasket?

If it's sucking oil through the PCV valve, then either the valve is defective or you have one Hell of a lot of blowby, caused by worn piston rings and/or cylinders...

But

The line in the oil filler neck must be able to suck fresh air, do you have it blocked???
