86 5.0 aod question

I have had this issue happen to me twice recently.  I am curious if anyone else has experienced this.  when acceleratting at part throttle  from a stop or turn  about 50 mph or so it goes to shift into OD.  when it does it bucks back and forth into and out of OD any ideas?

When cruising between 40 to 45 my car will skip between OD and D ocasionally. It depends on how much throttle I am giving it. If i give it more it will do it at higher speeds. I would first make sure that the TV cable is still hooked up. If it is, I would try pulling codes to see if there are any problems with the motor. Sometimes if your motor bogs down while your holding steady throttle, the transmission could see it as you decelerating.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

It's common for the older transmissions to "hunt" when shifting to OD, especially if you increase acceleration, even slightly...

well i know the TV cable is adjusted... i adjusted it so it would shift harder lol so not really thinkin much along the lines of any issue really.  id have to find time to  around with pulling codes.
