1988 TC 140 Speedo For Sale

I have a 140mph Speedometer cluster that was in a 1988 thunderbrid turbo coupe. When I had my 87 tc I plugged it in and the tachometer and speedometer worked. I only kepted it in for a few hours just to try it. I never went at high speeds but the the speedometer seemed accurate.

I'm assuming this could just be plugged into the v8 sport cluster and be used for that purpose.

$420 or best reasonable offer shipped in the continental USA. Usually I sell parts real cheap, but I paid a lot for this 3 years ago, I know how popular they are, and I could really use the money as there are some things I need to do to the 442 before summer. The last one on ebay for almost $500

Pm me if interested. I thought I was going to use it, but it seems pretty complicated to adapt it to a car without a tachometer, and I like the digital stuff more

Sorry for the py pictures, the lense cover isn't bad. Just a little dirty.

Well, if you wanted to keep it and put it in your car, you'd just have to repin about 4-5 wires, and it would work, unless you have the full digital cluster, then you'd have to swap a couple senders. (fuel and oil, i believe..)

The speedo itself will swap right into any '87-'88 buttstuffog cluster, be it V8 or TC.

Mine is just  base cluster, I have the digital speedo and buttstuffog gauges. So I don't have anything for a tach and whatnot.

Then to get the new sending units and what not, its not worth it. For the price I paid then to put more time and money into it isn't worth it, to me. It'd rather sell it to someone with a nicer car who wants it. I modded my base cluster to read over 85, and thats just fine for me.

Thats correct, but partially not for MY car. There is something wrong with the wiring and with the gauges. To make a lo ng story short, my sending units(except the fuel one in the tank) are the ones for a full digital car working on a base cluster. I don't know what was done to it, or why. But my gauges work with the wrong senders, but not with the right ones. Something was modified at some point, whether it was before my grandmother got it or not, who knows.

Honestly, It'd rather not screw around with the electronics in my bird. I don't want to screw anything up or cause any problems. I just want to sell the cluster to someone who can use it, or doesn't have the screwy wiring I do. Plain and simple.

Thanks. Its just not worth it to me at this time to screw around with the car on the speedometer. I need it to commute and so forth.

I don't want to put it on ebay because of the fees and so forth incured with buying an item. Best reasonable offer and its sold.

Does this work in an 85-86 Turbocoupe or XR7?

Should be the same for the turbocoupes. The XR7's are turbo cars or v8 cars? I know v8's have a different tachometer, which can either be swapped into the cluster of the speedo swapped into yours.

XR-7s were turbo cars.

Then yes, it should be a direct fit. I wasn't sure if they were turbo cars or not. I knowthe other instrument clusters swap between cougars and tbirds, so I see no reason why this one wouldn't.
