74wheeler and what it might haul

Pic of a huge trailer that will haul this worn out turbine form Dominion Power Co hydo elec plant in bath co va.

check out the bearing wear,, no roller bearings used but should be IMHO.  Maybe it will be snowing by the time it gets loaded and the guy who steers on the rear of the trailer will freeze his nads off. 

BTW,, the trailer it sits on now has several wheels also.

That 48 Wheeler isn't too crazy, but the 74 is wild. (what configuration? Looks like a flat deck w/goosenecks on gn dolly, on gn dolly, on dolly. Must be one monstrous unit to need that many wheels. Is it road ban, or what?) Are you sure it's 74, because if those are 8 wheel axles then it looks like a 144. The most I've ever had to deal with are 80's, and those are big units.

I don;t think any tractor at my work could pull that thing.  (unless going down hill ;)

heck yeah it road legal. I ran up against it during one of my trips to a town just below here.  that thing quickly turns a 2 lane into a one lane.

that 34 wheeler is  a 8 wheel axle but ill double check the other.

btw,, the 74 sort of extends and jacks up and all sorts of neat things.  sort of a universal one size fits all for hauling.

That thing is absolutely monsterous!  So cool!  That's like a stupid goofy amount of bearing wear on the turbine!!!  Somehow I have the feeling that rollerbearings wouldn't really hold up to the pressures and that leaked water would negate a lot of the efficency gain.  Any idea how long that turbine was in operation?  Any idea on how much either of them weighs or what metal those are made of?  Is the thing on the 74 / 144 wheel the turbine expansion casing?

I would love to see them moving the parts onto the trucks and seeing the multi gooseneck thing in use.  I mean, cr@p!  Just the engineering of it would be cool
