I went a little overboard with it. I haven't tried to slide the little dount under it but it might fit, the only thing is I'd have to take out the box just to get the spare. It has about 10" of space from the front of the box to the back of the trunk, just enough for my tool box, if you push the box back however it gets in the way of the latches and the trunk doesn't latch properly.

Like I said 3 10"s is a little overboard but I just love the look of it when I pop the trunk, plus when ever I upgrade the subs I have a sold foundation to work with.

Jrad- I'm sure that the particle board is a little lighter than MDF so it worked out in your favor.

Yeah, its a little big. When the car has a full tank of gas the ass sits really low and it looks like the shocks are gone. Someday down the line I'll make another one, thinking 2 12"s and custom amp racks built into the sides of the trunk, something very show inspired but clean.

I got a jensen flipout in the stock location.  Have pioneer speakers in the factory locations powered by a diamond 400.4.  Also have a single 10" RE SX in a prefab box set in the drop down part of the trunk powered by a american bass xd1000 amp.  Its got plenty of kick for my liking.  Also can remove the sub easily for autox.

doesnt have navigation, but I would assume one that does would fit the same

Alpine head unit with aux input run through the glove box, 2 6.5" Pioneer component speakers with tweeters mounted on the plastic triangles by the window, tweeters in the dash, and Pioneer 6x9"s in the rear deck, run off of a 300W 4 channel Crunch amp, and 2 Kenwood 12"s in a flippin' huge box running off an overwhelmed 600W amp.

When I had this 87 red XR-7 back in the 90s, in high school, big sound systems were all the rage...

I had 2 American Bass 15" in a sealed box in the trunk (crossed over as low-low freq), 4 8" radio shack dual voice coil subs in the rear deck (crossed over as mid-low freq), 5.25 kickers in the door crossed as mids, 3.5 kickers in the dash crossed as tweets, and an extra set of tweets in the rear deck. I had 3 amps in the spare tire well- a sony 50x4 for the highs and mids, a radio shack 100x4 for the 8's and a rockwood (generic) 250x2 for the 15's.

Remember, I was like 17 or 18 when I put this system together, so the install was not that professional looking. I did have a professional make that rear deck for me though, and the box for the 15s. It sounded really good. Nice, clean, and loud.

I got to enjoy this system for about a year before it was mostly all stolen...

I posted pics of what I have in my 83 daily driver Here

Do you have a side picture of the deck? I'd like to see how far it sticks out in order the clear the bezel.
