STAY AWAY from the scorps as they tend to break around the trunnion area when rpm and open pressure comes into play.

My Crane (energizers) are incredibly noisy, even after trying different lifters (factory vs comp cams high energy), additional lifter preload with longer pushrods (6.3in), and checking/rechecking/reshimming dozens of times. I recommend anything but them - they make me want to go back to stamped as there isn't really any benefit other than less/no valve tip wear and by that point the heads should be rebuilt anyways.

They work fine though - I just hear a ton of valvetrain noise after the oil warms up and I'm sitting there idling. I wouldn't recommend scorpions either but only by word of mouth.

Hope all's well once we hear back. I wish I would have done it correct from the beginning after all I've been through - new aftermarket block, aluminum heads, stud mount rockers, forged crankshaft, lighter forged pistons...now I'm stuck with lesser parts for the same price the above would have cost.

Your factory rockers are probably just fine.I wouldn't spend the money on them for a 3.8.Spend the money on something else.I'm going back to factory rockers on the new engine.

o.K........I picked up the heads today at lunch. The owner was gone,so,I didn't get my flow sheet yet.No big deal.I did like what I saw.The ports were opened up nicely, milled just a little, valve job,new seals, the new springs, just great.I have them loosely bolted to the block waiting for the rest of the bolts to be installed then torque them down.I got my head gaskets and intake gaskets today and a free set of Autolite spark plugs (the Autozone manager "donated" them for the "cause").They are also going to toss in a set of the premium valve cover gaskets.Sweeeeeeet !!!! By or on Saturday (maybe Friday),I should have the heads, front cover, alternator bracket, intake and a few other little things done.Getting closer all the time.I ran out of time today,so,pics hopefully tomorrow (I need three more hours in the day).Stay tuned...............
